| Lisa, I'm sorry if I'm missing something here, since I didn't read all the posts, but generalizing and such for signs is common on here. I don't like it, either. There's many bad things said about Pisces that I don't like. However, this is an astrology site where people will talk about the signs in general and make generalizations. Intrigued was just asking a simple question. If it hurt you that she said air signs don't feel deeply, then say it without conflict: "Air signs feel deeply, but we don't show it as often." No use getting defensive over it. If you don't think these things apply to you, then say 'well, I'm not like that, so who cares?' Like I said, it is unfortunate that this site contains many generalizations and some that are wrong, but that's why people ask questions and this site will always have them. I really don't think the OP meant anything bad by posting this topic. So, everyone, try to calm down, okay? : ( |

Posted by Scenic thanks anyway, scenic, for posting. i understand. generalisations get thrown around and it's hurtful. if i go by what astrology says, and for example, she's a water sign herself, how come she doesn't have the sensitivity that maybe other people may be sensitive/emotional about this? so i suppose it is ingrained in some people's head. or it's manipulative (another generalisation) but youre a scorpio and you dont show that at all, you are sensitive to other's even if it's on the messageboard. i guess i just have a thinner skin. because i read through some of the replies and some can take it easy peezy but i'm sure they do feel very much. |

| Well I would like to add something for a moment. Regardless of sign I believe this is more of an environment issue. Take me for instance, yes I am an air sign with lots of air placements (so that adds to it), but I grew up with a parent absent. My mom just started saying "love you" to my sister and I two years ago. I am now in my early 30's and my sister in her late 20's. When you grow up in a loveless home you will also inherit that type of behavior. Take a look at your lineage. Is there an absence? If so maybe the sign doesn't have entirely everything to do with it. However with that said. Air signs we rely more on logic. Some signs find it hard to let things go and emotionally barrage you until you leave. I face problems head on with little to no emotion present. And there is a reason for that. Because emotions are NOT trustworthy. Logic is. (As mentioned earlier in this thread). Id like to acknowledge the problem and move on. Countless hours of whining, guilt tripping, cookiemonstering, victimizing themselves, etc., is not my cup of tea. Once they start doing that I go into air mode and start thinking "How much of this crap can I deal with? Maybe they aren't the one." Enter fickleness. I despise feeling like butter. Some people revel in their own misery. Air signs just don't find that appealing. Not everyone wants their face plowed into a mud pit and shackled for eternity of emotional turmoil. |

| Xin, but when you're using logic that isn't good when you're dealing with another human being. humans aren't a computer chip. if you go into this so called air mode, it's called being selfish/self centered because you are disregarding the feelings of others. that's why some people cannot understand it. you cannot run from this, and most especially when you have children someday or/and your sister or brother need you. i agree with you that it comes from loveless backgrounds sometimes, but not always. lots of people come from loveless backgrounds and vow to never become that person they've been raised as. that comes from inner struggle and war with yourself that your battle has just begun. |

I usually don't win the arguments I start, anyway. Hah. ; ) And yeah, sign traits are pretty general that could apply to a bunch of different people, so there are always going to be aspects of their sign that people don't agree with. Even some of my more specific placements don't fit me. So, it's probably best to try not to generalize, though that gets really difficult on sites like this. |

| and to add, yeah i get where you are, that you are only doing it, doing this to protect yourself. you dont want to cry and feel these feelings. putting up a wall isn't going to make you strong imo. sometimes a wall only helps perpetuate a kind of weakness. sort of like being in this bubble you place yourself on. there's no emotional growth. if there's no emotional growth, how can you /or anyone else reach out, understand another human being's suffering? some people, no ...alot of people turn away from suffering because it's discomforting. and this is not a sign thing really. there's alot of people that do this. |

| I don't remember saying anywhere that I or anyone else was a robot. I am not completely void of emotions. You don't seem to be understanding what I am trying to say. Things like this need to be met with I believe an equal amount of emotion and logic, but for me I do it more logically. I don't like to dwell on things and harp on someone all day because I want them to feel the way I feel. That is not AIR signs way of doing things. I am far from being selfish let's make that very clear. You make me out to look like some type of monster robot LOL! |
