All you'll ever need to know...

What's yours? Anyone else remember "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "Bridge to Terabithia". Both got spoiled for me but I still cried at the end lol.

Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles are the best book series I have ever read though. They are so deep and meaninful. Mrs. Rice has a way with words (And I can't believe my vocabulary is good enough to be able to understand those words without needing a dictionary at my side while reading lol) My favorite though is The Queen of the Damned. Soo much better and soo different from the movie. Its like the movie took the names from the book, and slapped Queen of the Damned as its title. lol. I loves me some Akasha. After reading that, I secretly hoped that Akasha would come for me, turn me into her vampire lover, and we could take over the world together.

Oh, and I cried at the end of Queen of the Damned too. Akasha felt so betrayed by Lestat. So lonely. It was so tragic that I teared up.

So what's your favorite book/series? (Or we could just discuss the Vampire Chronicles, I wouldn't mind )

I do, however, love Aaliyah (Rest In Peace) and the music in the movie, though.

The music, oh the music, it puts me in 'one of those moods' lol

I am the Dual Being, harbouring a soul b

"A Hat Full of Sky" by Terry Pratchett. It's supposed to be a children's book. Loved the heroine and loved the ending.

Also "The Time Traveller's Wife". Author of that book knows how to write a man.

Honorary mentions:

"Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell
"Monster's Regiment" Terry Pratchett
"Night Watch" Terry Pratchett (again)
"White Teeth" Zadie Smith
"Nocturnes" by John Connolly
"Bad Men" by John Connolly (again)
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" J K Rowling.

This may sound strange, but I really like "Macbeth". Had it tested for school so I know the 'ins and outs' and multitude interps. I even teach it.

I really liked "A picture of Dorian Gray", though I only read it once, it stuck. I won't mention any Non-fiction or self-help, but "Veronika Decides to Die" is my favorite from Paulo Coelho, and "South f the Border, West of the Sun" is likely Murakami's best work.

Anyone would think you're from the 'Scream' school of drama (Or 'I know what you did...' etc etc) the way you're 'trying' to pick people off, hahah.

i loved interview with the vampire too! i have 'the vampire lestat', though i haven't read it yet. people have said it's better than the first, we'll see...

oh and i never read bridge to terabithia, but when i watched the movie it was heartbreaking.
i have a few other favourites. 'the selfish giant' by oscar wilde & 'the catcher in the rye' by j.d salinger. i didn't really like caulfield initially, i thought he was idealistic and immature. but as i read more, his cyncial yet soft focus of the world won me over and he ended up being one of my favourite literary characters ever!

'the bell jar' by sylvia plath, i've read it over and over. it's a very vivid account of a young woman who suffers a nervous breakdown whilst on a summer internship at a magazine in new york, and gets hospitalized. i thought it was sparky, and it's apparently semi-autobiographical?

& 'to kill a mockingbird' by harper lee. i cried when ewell attacks scout and jem, then they realise boo radley rescued them...and scout walks him home. so sweet

'the kite runner' by khaled hosseini is awesome. as is 'half of a yellow sun' by chimamanda ngozi adichie.

My favorite book is any book that deal with Tudor history. Right now it, Anne Boleyn by Marie Louise Bruce, because she do not try to make Anna sound like a saint. All books by Alison Weir, and G.W Bernard . I also like folklore and fables books.
