| could have something to do with house placements? googled 'sun in cap in 12th house' which lead me to a janis joplin (jan. 19) story (also a cap cusper with aqua rising with aqua venus and mercury in the 12th house). 'The 12th House is the most hidden, behind-the-scenes part of the whole horoscope, the most difficult place to express anything openly. Janis had three planets in the 12th House.' 'Capricorns, especially with the Sun in the 12th House, are quite charitable, but never publicize or boast of their good deeds. They like to help people in a quiet way, and can be of great help to those in distress. (Shortly after her death, Janis's father received a phone call from a girl in Lake Charles, Louisiana. "She had run away to Los Angeles to be an actress and was working as a waitress there when she met Janis in a restaurant and waited on her. They got to talking and Janis told her to get back home. Janis took her to the bus station, bought her a ticket, and put her on a bus for Lake Charles. She called up to say how much she appreciated that. Now she's married and has a child and she said she would have gone wrong if she had stayed in L.A....That's a side of Janis no one saw. She would only do that if no one was around that she knew, if none of her friends were around. She didn't want to reveal her true feelings." Similarly, completely without fanfare, she helped see to it that a proper marker was put up on Bessie Smith's grave.") |
Posted by lnana04 You're welcome Deep down, it's all about love for family and having the best for them. That they never want for anything less. You are very fortunate to have such a wonderful grandmother who sacrificed alot. I understand that Every sign/placements has signs of greediness, for sure, and I believe it's because they get "lost" along the way. Wanting what "others" want. |
| Thanks for sharing that lisabethur8! My Cappy grandmother was a single parent of 5 kids at the time, so it was all about work with her, but it was all definitely to support her family. She didn't have a choice but to work all the time and her kids grew up not needing a thing. I think family is very important to most of us, and even if we don't have our wants, we want to make sure we have everything we need for now and tomorrow. That's how my Cappy grandmother is, and it's how I am. I will always be stacked up with necessities. I think children/family is the only thing in this life I could dedicate myself 100% to. I want them, but I want to make sure things are right first lol. |
Posted by BlazingGoat i'm going to chime in with you, Bg, cause I know a capricorn high school bestie who married right after high school, and she wasn't the typical "money making machine, independent, etcetera" instead, the only characteristics she had that correlated with hard work was that she was dedicated to her children, home and family life. Her husband was the bread winner and I dont know his sun sign or moon but i remembered he was not a cap. She sounded just like you infact. Paddling like crazy and hopeless at times, but her husband was the one who always pulled her through. another instance, my capricorn grandmother: never worked a day in her life. But she worked hard for a large family and household. It isn't all about money. so astrologers need to rework that generalization. and put disclaimers or something. |

| Nala, the Leo in our household earns the money, takes care of financial matters and is the only one who's ever concerned about money. Not that he has a choice because he married a money-hopeless-Cap. |

| They are not misconceptions. They are truths. I don't know all the Caps in the world but the ones I do know have some very similiar traits. They are not negative. It depends on if you are a glass half full or half empty kind of person, let's examine them shall we.; You are uptight-At least around strangers. That's ok, I know when you do relax, you trust me and feel comfortable. You do work hard...very, very hard. Money is important to you. That's ok. If ever, I were in a financial bind I would go and find a Capricorn. They are going to have it or at the very least a pretty good credit score to borrow it. You are serious-That's ok. Someone has to be. Life is not all fun and games. IMO, society might need to get a little more serious about some things. You are who you are and that's ok. I am sure there are some Capricorns who are broke, lazy, laugh at everything and are a downright embarrasment to the Sun Sign. Would you want to be one of those? I am learning to look at the positives with you guys. I just posted about my Cap being boring yesterday. However, if boring means paying the bills on time, keeping someone's secrets, being dependable and calm in times of chaos ...then I'm coming back as a Cap. Real Talk. |
Posted by lnana04People always have a hard time knowing the real us and not just how we're coming off in the moment. Nobody bothers/cares to anymore. |
| Oh, and one more thing: It irritates the hell out of me when people want to look for other signs placements in our natal chart whenever they see something positive in us. I don't know why the hell they're so reluctant to acredit Capricorn with anything good, warm, caring or in some other way positive. |
| I see this a bit like not immediately retaliating as a kid when others threw candy wrappers or snow balls at me but waiting until all the ammunition was on my side before firing all at once. Today, I just gather paper letters, print out mails, scan everything. Mail and scan everything and document all the times I've been refused a meeting, complain to the top and get my meeting where EVERYTHING will be discussed at once and because I'm the wrongged part, I come out with the best deals for our sons and other families affected by spineless-responsiblity shy social workers, etc. When I was a kid, I was visible and vocal in charities. When I worked, I gave to charities. Now I'm in a different stage in life and fighting for improved living standards for groups of people who can't effectively fight for themselves. accumulation of wealth and climbing a corporate ladder is not the only way in which Capricorns can succeed. We're not all alike and we define success differently. Not every Cap thinks success is something you can see on someone's bank account. I can't count but I think I just wasted my time and five paragraphs saying the same thing. >>>blush<<< |
| Second everything above. We're seagoats for the umpteenth time! We have a tail in the water. Reg. money, I don't care and I'm lousy with it anyway because I'm a math dyslexic. Yes, we can be determined, focused and passionate about something in life but not necessarily career, money and status. The ones who seem to live up to that stereotype are the ones that seem very aware of their Sun sign and not much else and fall for all the superficial descriptions of our sign. Security does matter and in our society, I'm afraid that can't be achieved without something on the bottom of the chest! I'm not securing that for us financially, hub is. This is just how we chose to divide things up instead of doing everything equally and oddly for a Cap, I'm not bothered about my lack of personal financial independence or lack of independent mobility. I've no idea if there's something in my natal chart that indicates why I'd lack this typical Capricorn trait. I take providing a secure home base and responsibilities not just to our own disabled sons but also to other families in the same situation very seriously and no one in the county wants a meeting with me in person! So we have no sense of humor? I guess that depends on the observer's own sense of humor. Strange that some of the most well known and best remembered comedians are/were Capricorns. |
