Modeling. Do you think it's wrong for me to...?

Do you think it's wrong for me to pursue a modeling career mostly for the money and traveling experience and not so much a raw passion for the business?

I'm just gonna be real. I'm young. I need money. I'm pretty. I realize that I'm marketable. I have modeling talent. But to be honest, what drew me to the modeling industry is the money and traveling experience. As I have photo shoots and learn more about the business, I'm starting to see that it actually is very hard work. The agency that signed me only chooses models who shine from the inside out, not the outside in (or at least girls who are good at acting like it). They've rejected stunning girls who were insecure and/or needed to work on their lives. As I start to really see that this business takes a lot of heart, a lot of time, and dedication...I'm kind of realizing it's more of a commitment than I realized. I kind of feel a little bad because I know that there's some girl out there who wants this more than I do and I have a spot that could be open for her. Don't get me wrong, I do have fun modeling and it's a lot of fun! I just can't sincerely say "This is what I want to do for the rest of my life. My heart is 100% in this." I love the traveling opportunities! I get to go to awesome places and the businesses I model for pay for it, plus I get a paycheck!

Do you think maybe that's something that will come as I get more modeling experience? I just got signed and I haven't been modeling for very long. Do you think it's wrong or unfair for me to take advantage of natural talent just to make money when I'm not all that passionate about it? What's your opinion? Also, any modeling tips? I'm a beginner

I say do it. If you're discovered, more power to you. You could always follow your dreams after you raise enough capital to do so.

Only tip: lay off the llello.

There is nothing wrong with that. The work may be harder than many people would assume, but modeling is still relatively easy money in contrast with other career paths--so I'm told by those who once modeled/currently model under agency contracts. But of course, you already know there are standards you are expected to adhere to.
You say you don't want modeling as your lifelong career. That's for the best. The majority of models only have a few years in the spotlight if they're LUCKY. By and large it's a temporary occupation since we all age...by which point, the industry considers models 'past their prime'.

Go for it, have fun and be safe!

There are alot of professional models who multitask with their careers. You can always do what you wanna do plus modeling. Trust me you won't regret it when you'll be 50 you'll at least be able to show your grandkids how hot their grandma was! You can always quit but man time is going by it will be harder and harder to be accepted by photographers once you start aging. I say take a deep breathe, relax and enjoy your opportunities!

Might as well go for it, you'd probably regret it if not, imo.
Plus the travel aspect is always a good one.

OMG JUST DO IT and don't think about it too much unless taking this job has negatively impacted you more then it did positively.

but just save/ invest your money until you find an interest you want to pursue.

so many people are too poor to do what they want to do and just work to make ends meet

Aww, that's true. As a young woman, that's something I'm definitely trying to avoid.

So true. Modeling is hard, but it's harder to be a brain surgeon or a lawyer or a corrections officer at a prison or even a lot of 9 to 5 jobs where they don't get to have their company pay for them to travel lol
