In the dead of night, it's the anti-sig.
Since the saponins used are natural and plant based they usually do not foam like *modern* shampoos. They do however leave your hair clean. They must be rinsed out very well, they cling to the hair shaft more readily. Heated olive oil used as a 'hot oil' treatment is nice, if your hair is dark an infusing of rosemary is lovely. Washing and rinsing with rainwater is great. If you want perfumed hair, get a clear shampoo and add a couple of drops or so of whatever oil you prefer. If this does not entice continue using whatever brand you fancy best. |

| Ok, I do have a gripe on au naturale products - seems like they may not work so well on shampoos. The effect they may give you is the type going back to "People of the Earth" living - scraggly hair etc. The essential oils do not help the hair very much. Any thoughts? |

Posted by venusianbull I like ( and I have rosacea so moisturizer is a must ) oils like azulene and emu. There is an organic/natural product online shop I adore http://www.madefromearth.com. I get a rosehip and hibiscus serum and an aloe moisturizer there. Thank you for that site! It looks really good! I'd be switching to organics for now on - just got the clear shampoo from avalon organics as well, to try out. Was great. |

Posted by spica I just purchased a thick natural moisturiser - not cheap, but cheaper than brands like La Mer, SKII, philosophy etc. I thought they would put less of those chemicals which I'm kinda put off by nowadays. Do people around here use natural moisturisers and are they effective? what did you buy? i use the vitamine e cream from the body shop; it smells like oil of olaz - i´ve been using that for quite a while now and cannot complain, it pulls in quite fast and the skin is really nice and soft i would say for € 15,- it is quite an affordable item and you are doing something good for the environment as well.
I bought from "Avalon Organics", so far I recommend their moisturiser, it's quite good! I've tried the toners from Body Shop, one that was finished - seaweed I think. |
