| Only heard about this today. Thought it was pretty cool. Um, discuss? |
| It's a giant wolf lol. I was watching a special on the Discovery Channel and they were discussing it among other creatures such as Bigfoot and the Lochness Monster. |

i find stories like this quite interesting and have read a few myself; Bigfoot, Lochness to name a few. i'm just waiting for the day some real hardcore evidence can be found on any of these elusive creatures.. The Beast of Gevaudan reminds me ALOT of a french film i saw awhile ago, called Brotherhood of the Wolf, actually based on the film; some creative liberties were taken. It really liked it, it's pretty entertaining if you haven't yet seen it. BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF (2001) 210 attacks and 113 deaths reported IS astounding! Likely some kind of wolf hybrid mix (perhaps a living-fossilized genetic throwback from an early era.) Whatever it was, they seemed highly intelligent, independent, opportunistic predators, who loved human flesh. |

I have been to Loch Ness (several times) and have yet to see any evidence of "nessie" as we call him. Much is made of it up there though, you can take a boat trip out across the loch (which I've done) and they have these small stickers on the windows so that when you look out it's like you're seeing nessie bobbing on the water in the distance lol. Beautiful place btw. |

| Didn't they conclude that a game keeper had trained his large dog to do the murders? The locality of each one was circular around the game keeper's house and some of the victims were family members of the local land owner. The local land owner was trying to remove the game keeper after most of the wolves were driven from the land. Redundant use until the beast appeared. |

What you see is what you get. :)
Wolves themselves can get quite large if well fed. I've seen one, owned by some native american guys, who dwarfs my 100 lb American Bulldog. They are also VERY smart by nature as well. Feel between a dogs eyes on top of it's head, and you'll feel an indentation. That is a result of selective breeding over 10,000 years. Wolves have a ridge there, not an indentation, and the increased brain capacity that comes with it. Keeping them isn't exactly the same as keeping a dog, you have to know what you are doing. Even intelligent dog breeds are basically retards compared to wolves. It was a very impressive creature, as large as or larger than the biggest German Shepherd dogs I've ever seen, and I know a guy who breeds them from working German lines who has GSD's that weigh in around 150 lbs. So there's a point of reference to at least guesstimate how big they can get. |
