IP Like it happened yesterday in Moscow. I went to Kentchukiyes (sp?) and got a lot a people in the queue. Obviously I obeyed to the common rules as my moral standards dictate and stood to the queue. When my turn came someone jumped the queue (was an old man) and took his stuff. I have no problem with the old man jumping to the queue, but what the seller girl did absolutely tipped my balance off. After she served him, she apologized to me. Wtf? Why apologize? So she remembered that I'm actually here standing and it wasnt empty space after she was done? She didn't even bother asking my permission to serving the man first for which I obviously would say yes, then why apologize? My reaction was simple...I just walked away. Maybe the logical way was to argue with her, but it doesn't worth bothering when they get on your way all the time. |

IP | I'm not going to lie. I have felt the same way. I feel disappointed at everything and everyone all the time because I have very high expectations of them. I have high expectations of them not because I hate them or feel negative feelings but because I love people too much. I think everyone is my friend and when you believe in everyone and everything it just sets you up to disappointment. When you finally do try to isolate yourself it is very true, either people don't give a poop or they are upset because you are "ignoring them"/causing them pain when they caused the pain in the first place. Sometimes we do have to realize though that we shouldn't take things too seriously (to the heart) when we are disappointed. Maybe we have to control how much the disappointment gets to us, because it is quite a fact that noone is perfect...no matter how much we believe everyone is/can be in our idealistic minds. |

IP No, you are basically telling him not to whine his ass about life and other people, because he is not any better than them. I disagree with this. When there is something wrong with the system and the people, sometimes being dissatisfied is appropriate.

IP | Also... I'm not speaking of "conditions" I'm speaking of other people and their reactions to you as a person. Of course you can change your condition but you can not change other people and their ways. Read it, you obviously haven't yet. |

IP Posted by red_aries Everyone has power to do something to change the conditions they are in. The fact that some people choose to do nothing about it reflects a certain aspect of stupidity. To say you should just suck it up and live with what you have is not right. LOL like I said... life is not as black and white and as simple as some people paint it... to believe so is naive. Of course people have the power to change conditions but there are other factors that are always out of your control. Such as other people's agendas. I'm not saying live with what you have but be happy with who you are and APPRECIATE what you have because in the end that is all you have. |

Posted by Loyalist Rebel Thats easier to say than done. How can I even experience such feeling if what I feel about people is only disgust? How can you love someone that you feel disgust about. And you can even provide the reasons for this. I do think that "ego" is there to protect us. Under the circumstances of this society, ego is our intrinsic part. It is what makes us who we are. And I like it to stay that way until the circumstances change. However I agree with you that love and the respect that comes from loving is what needed. But love is not easy to build unless a certain level of basic understanding is there. Logically it's simple... You have to step out of your own world and put yourself in someone else's shoes and realize the world is not black and white, there is every shade of grey in between. But you say it's difficult to sympathize with these people and over time you begin to resent them for acting selfishly and you can't reason why they act as they do. It is for that very same reason you can't step into their shoes and sympathize with them they can not sympathize with you. Even as you type you really only speak of your own self-loathing and of the misery YOU experience, you in essence portray the same qualties as of those you speak of. Well what you should realize is that everyone experiences this to extent but obviously in their own ways... and that is what makes people unique. It's not that no one chooses not to reach out it's because we can't, it's like we live in glass cells each of different thickness and translucency... and if we're lucky it's just a thin sheet of plastic. Inevitably, the world and lives of everyone is of selfish means and it can not be helped. Just as you are trapped in that cell, so is everyone else... you just haven't been as fortunate. And what is wrong with being just alone? What is so wrong with it? Life is about the four letter word a-l-o-n-e. You are born alone and you die alone. Why not accept the inevitbale and depend on yourself, because ultimately that is the only person in the world ever capable of making you happy to the fullest. Yourself. Why resent others for something you're incapable of doing yourself? No, I don't agree with you. Everyone has power to do something to change the conditions they |

IP I am by no means implying that this is the ultimate truth, it is just a fact that must be faced. Face it and move on. Live life for you and concentrate on making you happy. What makes me happy is helping others and that is what I plan on doing. The world is vast and with billions of human inhabitants with differing ideas of happiness, eventually those ideas would clash. |

IP You get experience when you are being taken advantaged of. It makes you smarter and know how to survive in society. I guess people are content as long as they are surviving in society. What they are doing might not make sense or seem stupid to you, but at least they are surviving. |

IP | u can transform ur hate into pure love if u choose to do so. u can't change others, only urself. u won't let go of this hatred to allow room for love. compassion, understanding, and acceptance are key. u make ur own happiness... so go and be happy! |

IP | So are you suggesting that you have the same experiences just like I have described above? |
