British Marriage Study - VirGuy Results

Are y'all familiar with the study, Ten million marriages: A test of astrological ‘love signs', conducted by David Voas at the University of Manchester in 2007?? Using the 2001 census data for England & Wales, he examined about 10 MILLION married couples to look for any evidence that astrological compatibility was a factor in their getting married, and staying married...

His conclusion: "This research shows that astrological sign has no impact on the probability of marrying – and staying married to – someone of any other sign. For decades, popular astrologers have promoted the idea of ‘love signs’: compatibility between partners with certain combinations of birthdays. If the more than twenty million married people in England and Wales offer any indication, however, lonely hearts who worry about the zodiac are wasting their time."

While I don't question the methodology, I did find some interesting results in the accompanying tables...

For example, look at which women Virgo Men are more likely to marry and stay married to (ranked by raw numbers):

1 - Taurus
2 - Aries
3 - Gemini
4 - Cancer
5 - Virgo
6 - Pisces
7 - Leo
8 - Aquarius
9 - Libra
10 - Capricorn
11 - Sagittarius
12 - Scorpio

Not exactly the way astrology predicts it for us... but, you know, I thought it was strange that I know TWO very happy Aries Woman + Virgo Man couples, when statistically, that's about right for the total number of VirGuys I know...

Outside of my experience, from just reading here. Virgo + Aries woman = Hot and Lusty. Xtina can attest to that one from her stories.

Not that Astrologers need me defending them, but a false assumption I see in the study: People base their attraction to another on Sun Sign comaptibility. How many average people consider another's Sign in finding them attractive? Don't most of us feel the attraction FIRST, and then get to know more about a person? I think astrologers would say that we should use their compatibility charts as a guide -- not that it actually predicts who will pair up for life...

Im not surprise for the scorpios out side of u dy i have not hear of virgo being crazy for them not saying it doesnt happen just stating my observation plus i dont like them and i have scorpio rising plus a butter load of virgo so i should.. i don't know y sum thing about them.. ehhh

About the Study: One thing he did find (and tried to explain away) was a statistically significant number of Same Sign marriages across all Signs...

Much more than could have occurred by mere chance.
