Update ..... The Goldie, who because he spent his whole life with an older dog and so has always been the baby, initially took it really bad that his friend wasn't here. And it was obvious that he was moping around. He has taken to my oldest animal .. a 17 year old cat. He is now best buds with the cat, and his spirits have perked up. |

DoubleG, they each have their positives and negatives really. I rarely take care of any humans who are just downright rude. Most of the ones who have their moments aren't cognitively intact. They're a lot more appreciative. OTOH, they whine a lot more. Humans are interesting to talk to.. but dogs can speak with their body language and have excellent senses of humor. And they just do some funny butter. Cleaning up after humans grosses me out more, because I'm actually able to get whatever they're infected with, but you don't actually TOUCH it or get it on your skin unless you screwed up. But cleaning up after dogs.. well lets just say you get FINGERPAINTED with butter. I didn't even want to get in my car to go home after work, and get that on my car seat. But the diseases they have are 99% of the time not contagious to humans. Dogs AND humans can try your patience. But only with dogs can you yell and scream and curse and get away with it lol. Humans you have to put on this false 'customer service' smile and take whatever they're saying. Theres a lot less politics in dogs, unless you get into the breeding/showing area. I mostly worked taking care of people's dogs when they were at work (daycare) or vacation (boarding) or grooming. Politics is RAMPANT in nursing. Its amusing if you can stay out of it, if you get involved it is a headache. The WORST part of taking care of dogs is their owners. By far. I cannot believe (to this day) some of the expectations owners have. Turn my matted mess into a show dog, and do it in 20 minutes because I miss fifi, oh and by the way she bites. And I expect it done for less than it costs to get my hair trimmed at the cheapo barber, even though I brush my hair at least twice a day, shampoo it every day, and I sit still for the barber. She's just a dog after all. But she's my BABY and she better get the pampered treatment while she's here! Dont you DARE put her in a crate while you're waiting for her to blow dry! But if you blow dry her by hand she turns into Cujo, so watch out! holding it by 2 fingers: |

Posted by Skykomish Been in animals for over 10 years, and now I'm in nursing.. maybe if you hadn't been so nasty to me I had to block you I'd have been able to help. Sorry he didnt make it though. It's not my problem you go crying everytime someone tells you the truth .... you'd rather spend your life with your fingers in your ears ... Oh, and I will never need help from someone like you .. I can't stand ignorant people, like you and Krys who answers my posts, while claiming I'm on block. You can go blow your "sorry" out of your ass ... my little dog would have been told to go piss on your legs |

female from the abyss of confusion
| P: I just saw this, from the deepest depths of my heart, I am so sorry. When my foster dog was diagnosed with cancer I couldn't go through with it and he wasn't even mine! (he's still with me too - they gave him a week to 3 months to live and its been over a year!) I've had others (cats and dogs) I had to put down, and still cry to this day. I know how hard this is for you. Please accept my condolences. |

| Some nerve for doing what? Having compassion for someone in real pain? Calling out people who are being nasty? |

Thank you you Cloudy, aPP, bling, LS, WB, Whimsy, and everyone ... my little guy would feel honored to know how many people love dogs. He was a dog lover himself and made friends with every dog he met. I really liked that poem taurusgirl ... it's very endearing. I don't mean to miss anyone .... all of you ... thank you for thinking about my little dog.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Yorkie, P. I lost my little girl Pom Duchess 3 years ago on March 28th. It still hurts to this day to think about her the way she suffered. In fact, I can't do it without getting tears in my eyes. They truly are like our children. My BFF who is also a Pisces broke speed records to get to my house to help me during this crisis. She was the only one that knew how much my Duchess meant to me and she knew the exact words to ease my pain. Below is a poem called Rainbow Bridge that a dear friend shared with me after my loss. I hope it helps you too. God bless. Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

Some people here are happy a doggie died from a painful disease because of what you think of P-Angel's posts? I'm sick to my stomach. P-Angel, I am sorry for your loss. I understand how it feels to lose one of your "children". |

P-Angel, Despite our petty disagreements in the past I wish you comfort in this time. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to endure and I can only imagine your distress. May your golden have sweet dreams of playing with his little friend and your tears dry quickly. C |
