| Doesn't matter who we vote for, our votes change nothing. We aren't the one's deciding. Obama's a puppet, I suggest that American minds should stay attentive to what's going on in the world around them, and to the decision our government is actually making rather than the silly false promises, and aimless politicians arguing in the election. Maybe then we could actually change something, if everyone would get their heads out of the sand. |
| @ TV Good points about the impatience and short memories. I keep reminding everyone around me that Obama DID say repeatedly that it was gonna take more than 4 years to reverse the damage, and that results would NOT come over night. This is not to dismiss the plight of those who are struggling to pay the mortgage and feed their kids, but I think many get caught up in the rhetoric, charisma, and "fun" of it all without taking a realistic view of what the process to turning this economy around actually entails. Lack of information by failure to educate one's self on anything from policy, voting, congress, etc. This is not in anyway to blame the American people but I think it's just a small part of the problem. The issue is so complex. As for reaching across the aisle, I think Obama has done a fine job thus far. The real question should be - who has reached back? I agree with the sentiment that the Republicans would rather see the economy fail than to see Obama win. Biden already confirmed that Romney/Ryan have rejected every single proposal that Obama has laid on the table, and although it's politics as usual, the playing of the Obama/Clinton administrations against one another is just another example of how stupid they think the American people are when it's clear that on top of the normal everyday challenges and obstacles a president will face, that a Black president will be (and has been) met with a unique set of his own. I'm not sure that Obama may have bitten off more than he can chew. I wouldn't count him out just yet. For Dems, voting in your down ticket races (i.e. Senate, House of Reps...) as well, is CRUCIAL. We can chant "YES WE CAN!" all day long but if the majority of Congress is Republican, then, guess what? |
Posted by DAMEN VI Agreed, but he already knew this, and besides, the bible thumpers weren't going to vote for him anyway, so why not play to the gay vote. Alot of power there. |

| Hey you worthless democrat treetrunks, what do you have to say about the Chinese Human Rights Activist who was on the run from Communist agents? Cheng Guangcheng ring a bell, you useless treetrunkers? He ran to the US Embassy for asylum, and was booted into the streets "to regain contact with his family." If the internet blogs hadn't brought this story to National attention, you God-Damn democrats would have let him get arrested by the Communists and subsequently murdered. PS... treetrunk You, Democrats. Source: http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/05/05/goodspeed-analysis-chen-guangchengs-escape-awakens-chinas-activists/ |
| Oh yeah, 2004 was a joke and so was 2000. No one wanted Bush in 2000--remember?, but his daddy was President so he was heir apparent. Did the voters have a choice? Hell to the NO. Then 2004--we elected him because we were in a war--that is the only reason. In 2008, Hillary was the one who should have been nominated--she worked her ass off for the Democrats. She played by the rules. Did her time in the Senate. Had an impressive resume, but she was chopped off at the knees by the Democrat machine and they poured $600million into the Obama campaign. $600 million! I remember my friends cookiemonstering about how Bush bought the election in 2004 for $300 million and how pissed they all were. Does any of this make sense? No. Look at the elections and study them. The last time we had an election that was remotely "authentic" was when Clinton was in office. All the others were bought and paid for--and no I'm not paranoid. I've just researched and studied them. Most people vote on emotion when what we really need to vote on is fact. But 2012 is already in the bag. Anyone worth anything has already been discredited or made fun of--my money is on Romney because secretly the Hollywood money is riding on him. The liberal elites say one thing in public but they are pouring money into Romney. But that's just how it is looking right now. Again, do we have a choice? No. Did anyone really want Romney to be the candidate? Not many. Its all a joke. And this is why I stay away from politics in general, its a ponzi scheme and we the people are the one's who are going to lose our shirts. LOL have I ranted enough yet? Sheesh. Honestly, that felt good. |
Posted by P-AngelPosted by ScorpioFish 2008 was the worst election of my life in terms of people attacking each other for not wanting to vote for Obama. It was unbelievable and opened my eyes to what is really happening in this country as far as propaganda is concerned. The democrats PAID people to troll forums and attack anyone who even so much as questioned Obama's record. Really? Since when was an election not about questioning records? Right before the election in 2008, I went into a book store and was flabbergasted at the sheer amount of Propaganda featuring Obama. I am not kidding but almost every book/magazine I could see had his or his family's face on the cover. Since when do we worship our leaders? Since never. BTW, McCain sucked and so did everyone else. 2008 was a joke. And 2012 is shaping up to be a joke as well. We the people don't have any power even with our vote. When are we just going to admit that and stop making it seem like one candidate is better than the other? They all suck. |
Posted by AOOOOOOOOOA This. |
| 2 months since my initial post and it looks to me even moreso now as though he's on his way to a second term. |
Posted by ScorpioFish The ones who voted for him in 2008 were fools. |
| His royal Kenyan dicatatorness doesn't have a prayer in Ohio with the way he has alienated Catholics through his "do as I say regarding abortion mandates" toward Church sponsored hospitals. 5 dollar gas this summer will also cost him Florida and North Carolina, and his destructive attitude toward the coal industry will cost him Pennsylvania. The only ones who will vote for Obama in 2012 are fools. Nevada may go to Obama just because those people are stupid enough to have recently re-elected Harry Reid. |
Posted by VirgoVixxxenPosted by westside oh hello there virgovixen what a great day it is i hope you are having a most splendid day talk to you later. |
| I live in North Carolina, and he'll probably lose here. Just squeaked by last time (I think it was 49.5%- 49.9%). My part of the state is overwhelmingly democrats, but most of the state is red. There will also be tons of Ron Paul supporters where I live. |
