I think it was a cop out. Someone said it earlier in the post that he was just tired of her and wanted a reason to leave. It's a huge dick move but I think so too. Three years? Come on. You know it wasn't actually an issue. Real reason was he was just tired of her, found someone else he was interested in, etc.

I have a close male friend who vented about the same exact thing to me. He was so harsh saying things like "She went out to a buffet then wanted to eat ice-cream wtf. She needs to lose weight" Basically, he says he's just turned off of the way her tummy looks but it's still messed up.
