Seriously, can you imagine using one? It's currently for the blind or vision impaired (I read there was a rock climber who was blind, but was able to find each hand hold using it). Already though it's on the verge of being tinkered with for other things, like perfect night vision.

Amazing.
We are entering a century of amazing inventions for almost every aspect of our lives for both the able and the handicapped. But there can be an explosion of them in the medicine fields. If only pharmaceutical companies would start caring about curing diseases instead of maintaining them so they can sell more pills.
Like the gas companies do with fuel economy technology and inventions. They are known for buying out patents and having them mysteriously disappear, while they annually throw us a bone by meagerly increasing the MPG's a mile at a time in their new cars.
