Significant Thoughts of God
I Have Had Throughout My Life


I. In the Beginning

Our Father who art in Heaven
The cross is beautiful
God might get mad at me
Dear God, if I die tonight, please take my soul
That light that falls from the top of the church is God watching over (me) us
God is going to punish me for being bad
Honor my mother and father
God if you let me reach the top of the tree I will pray everyday
God is Love
God is Joy
God is my grandfather
God loves me


II. Further Down the Path

If I crouch down in this public toilet, God cannot see me having a smoke.
Some people don’t believe in God
If I pretend God doesn’t exist, I can snort coke and drink all night
Smoking weed brings me closer to God
This song brings me closer to God
God is going to punish me for being bad
I don’t care what God thinks, I’m going to sleep with this guy and enjoy it
Do you love me God?
God wants to control me
God is disappointed in me
I love you God
God, I can’t hear you
Don’t hate me God, I am only human

III. You are Dead to Me

I have tried to be a good person and I have tried to do Your will but have punished me with the death of someone I love.
Is this how you treat the people who love You, God?
Another death, another tragedy, Dear God when will you stop?
When I think of You, I am reminded only of my failures and heartbreaks.
Dear God, why do you hate me so much? I have asked for forgiveness, but you continue to punish me.
Dear God, you are dead to me.
Dear God, I know you are there, but I’m not talking to you.
I hear you knocking but you can’t come in.
I am lost.
I am sad.
I am afraid.
I don’t need Your help.
Leave me alone.

IV. Alone
I am alone in this world.
No one is going to save me and it’s silly to think otherwise.
Shut up, no one is listening.

V. The Fog Slides Down The Sun, Streaming through the Trees

The way the fog streams down the sunbeams through the branches of those trees reminds me of how beautiful this Earth is and how wonderful it is to be alive.
This is a day the Lord hath made.
I’m still not talking to You, but I remember You


VI. The Lost Path One Morning in Early Spring

I am lost in the woods and I don’t know which path to take.
There was a time when I would hear the early morning birds and feel the pervasive quiet of a lonely wooded path and it would remind me that God loves me and that
He made the World beautiful out of a sincere love for His children.
I am trying to feel that now, my Lord, but its hard for me.
I wish my heart was not so hard.
I can feel a crack and there is heat, but I’m not sure I want to let You in.
I have come to believe that I ignore You more out of stubborness and habit than anything else.
I am selfish.
I am petulant.
I have made myself deaf.
I have pride, but I’m really just frightened.
You love me in spite of my failure to be perfect.
You stand by me when I push You away.
You have never stopped holding my hand.
You just want me to be happy.
I will find you again.
