My boyfriend and I are trying to be healthy and fit together. This has been an ongoing thing since we started dating and it just hasn't panned out very well lol. I don't know if it's our shared Pisces moon that continually takes us away from reality and our goals or our Scorpio/Taurus connection that keeps making us treetrunk instead of go to the gym, but it's getting to be a bit much. He's been chubby his whole life, but fluctuates a lot and in recent years my weight has started to fluctuate to the point where I'm just always uncomfortable.

I'm just interested in any tips anyone has on anything from meal plans to work out routines we could do separately or together.... or even what you tell yourself to stay motivated enough to get off your ass and exercise.

Thanks 😘

I am just asking because there's certain foods that could help you slim down, and if it's body shape there's a certain kind of exercise you'll do that focus on that specific area.

Both. I want to eat better (I have a huuuge problem with impulse control and have always been an over eater) and I want to be stronger and more toned.

I would love that. Don't know if I'm built for it though. I do have a pretty round butt though and wideish hips

Don't know who this chick is, but her ass is ideal. I know I'm a skinny white girl, but not to brag I have a pretty nice, god given booty. Haven't really worked on it at all and it's pretty big... just want it to be more firm

You're obviously built for it. You just need the right amount of body fat and the right kind of exercise that'll focus mainly only on that area.

To tone your butt, you could do
- planktons
- Squats
- Donkey kicks
- glute bridge
- lunges

Focus on your abs are sit ups

Don't forget to do stretches

Running focus on your calfs, thighs, and mainly the lower part of your body but it could also help you with your respiration.

If you feel like you're running out of air and wheezing a lot, breath in with your nose and out with your mouth.

Eating healthy food; almond nuts, salmon, white meat, brown rice, veggies, and fruits

Stay away from carbs if you're trying to lose fat.

Always drink water every 2 hours to keep yourself hydrated.

Water wash out all the toxic inside your body, and you'll be able to see the difference on your face, and lips.

( face should look brighter, and lips looks pink)

Thank you so much!! Do you work out a lot? That's all great stuff
It is hard. In my experience its easier to follow through with healthy eating when you've hit rock bottom.
If you go eat sugar till you black out, puke and pass out that'll get you off the sugar for sure.

Back in high school yes, I was also trying to aim for a body figure that was toned and I wanted an hour glass figure.

I got there! But after 2 years of slacking off, my body isn't toned anymore
I should get back to it!

You should both focus on eating first, maybe some light cardio. Build up to heavier cardio and lifting weights. In my experience, the eating and going to the gym regularly for people who come to me wanting to get in shape, takes 3 months of constant success and failure before they stick with it. It takes that long just for results, but that has seemed to be the golden spot for making it intoba habit.

First, cut sodium rich foods. Do not intake more than 2000mg of sodium a day, and drink 1 gallon of water a day. This will get rid of the water weight you hold which can be a good 10-15 lbs. This is usually the weight people lose thinking its fat when they first start, only to get butthurt when it all comes back from on back sodium rich meal. Truth is, you're not going to lose more than 2lbs of fat a week, and that is if your diet and exercise is on point. I'd say 3/4-1 lb a week for most.

As for food, cut out your sugars and high glycemic carbohydrates. Rule of thumb, if it's a white starch, its high glycemic (e.g. white bread, white potatoes, pasta, white rice). Basically these spike your insulin (anabolic hormone which basically tells your body to make muscle... Or fat), so you want to avoid spiking your insulin especially if you're not doing or getting done with exercise... Otherwise high glycemic carbs make a great recovery meal!
Fats arn't a big of culprit as people think, and I just treetrunking love peanut butter. Don't go over 10grams of saturated fats, and avoid trans fats all together. Definitely avoid processed cake type foods. FDA has regulations where companies don't have to show at least 2 grams of trans fat in their foods, which is bullbutter, but hey.
Just eat more fruit, vegetables, lean meats, and nuts. A shot of olive oil never hurt either, lol. I like to tell people to get rid of breads and pops, and stop eating out so much, but most seldom do unless a dictator like me rules their house.
For cardio, start with morning or evening walks for 30 minutes and slowly build to an hour. After you feel comfortable with that, do some jogging, then hit the weights. There is a science with intake, aerobics, and anaerobics, but thats all too confusing for beginners. Thats why i tell them to just walk. Walking in the morning before breakfast is amazing too though. You are tapping to your fat reserves instantly.
Hope these help. Any questions, feel free to ask.

replace car and bus with the bicycle, so you ll move no matter what. Start with nutrition, but dont make
complicated:

Count your calories:

Make sure you eat lots of vegetables, every colour.
Cut out softdrinks entirely. See for yourself how much calories are in there. There are pure poison from a nutritional stand point.
google craving and impulse control. There are strategies for that. If going to the gym is hard train together with bodyweight exercises. If your goal is to loose weight, BWE will do the trick too. Train with other people in the gym, there will be peer pressure if you dont show up.

Incentives, hold yourselfs accountable:

Thank you so much for this
Lots of good stuff here.

Just remember though that there is no such thing as "toned". Toned really is lean. Lean means lowering your body fat. Lowering your body fat means decreasing your fat stores and that comes from everywhere! Including your bum.

If you want to keep your arse you will have to do resistance training. Running and types of cardio is good but along with losing fat, you will lose muscle if it's the only kind of exercise you do.

I agree though, the first step is just to get moving.

I would also say, download a calorie counting app or keep some sort of food diary. You don't have to use the app to count calories but in the start just be aware of what and how much you are eating. It is really easy to overeat and eat more than you are burning from the additional exercise.
