Seems like the same questions and/or misinformation pops up regarding Leos often. So I'm going to throw out some frequently asked questions about Leos. Fellow Leos, if you can think of more questions, please feel free to share (and answer them if you feel so inclined).

1. What's the first thing to know about Leos?

Unless you know Leos personally, you probably won't get the most accurate information about Leos elsewhere. A lot of information out there focuses on our "big egos" and "need for attention". Yes, Leos can have large egos though we're not the only zodiac sign with this trait.

Also yes, Leos like attention, but usually from those we hold dear and not necessarily from random strangers. We can however appear larger than life due to our ability to amass a large social network. This ability makes us "popular" and "the life of the party". We can also master a craft through our own efforts, which means we may receive more attention as a result. In this way we seem to crave to be the "center" of everyone's focus.

Leos just want the best lives we can muster and many of us can be workaholics as a result. This is due in part to our fixed nature. Likewise we see no problem in basking in the attention/accolades that we receive. We are designed to "lead by example". Does that mean that we're perfect? No, of course not. We just tend to be extremely resourceful and proud of our abilities. Therefore we can appear to be more arrogant than we actually are.

2. Who's the best romantic match for Leo?

That's the magic question. No one knows. Leos are designed to work with everyone and can easily have a wide rage of relationships as a result. Our individual placements will determine our best match. Granted some matches may be easier than others based on element and modality. For example Fire and Air are supposed to be compatible. A lot of sources reference Libra and Leo to be a perfect match (debatable), while Leo and Aqua are suppose to be a horrible match (also debatable).

Also Leos are usually busy people, so we tend to have a lot going on in our lives. Therefore we are also looking for a partner who best fits with our own individual personality and needs. Therefore our partners can seem very random or nonsensical to outside observers (including family, friends, etc). This is because Leos care about both the inside and outside of a person. Leos love beauty, but we love it in all of it's forms. Superficial beauty may open the door, but it can only take us so far when it comes to being happy in a relationship.

Regardless the best match for any Leo is someone who is loyal, honest, and direct. Leos are intuitive, but we aren't necessarily subtle. We like people who speak plainly to us. We may find some mystery alluring, but we'll lose interest fast if we can't reach any actual substance. Additionally Leo is a sign of passion and romance. We need a little flare when starting a relationship. If things are too dull, we may never garner enough interest to push things forward.

3.Are Leos aggressive? Do Leos chase?

Yes and no. While Leos will initiate (conversations, dates, etc) we don't chase. A little mystery can grab a Leo's attention, but only if we're already interested. Leos are goal oriented people, we like to know that our efforts will result positively for us. So playing hard to get when we are interested is a quick way to lose our attention.

4. What's the best gift to give a Leo?

Every Leo has their own personal tastes. Some Leos like watches, other like movies, but we all have our "thing". If you don't know what the Leo is into, then giving a gift from the heart will always work. We can be hard to surprise, but a dinner date or a home cooked meal is always an easy win (that and sex).

DO NOT give us a mirror.

5. How to know if a Leo likes me?

Ask. Barring that, you can always just ask the Leo out on date and see how they respond. Barring that take note if the Leo is trying to spend time around/with you.

Leos are physical creatures. We like being near our romantic interests. We will also show off our potential partners and romantic interests to family and close friends. We may even make some grand gesture to show that we are serious. For example, if a Leo pays a skywriter to hop in a plane and write, "I Like U" in the sky, then there's a good chance the Leo likes you. It's not that complicated really.

6. I played hard to get and the Leo disappeared. What happened?

Leos don't like mind games and we're not really into being subtle. A little mystery is fine, but Leos are only patient when we know the goal and that we'll succeed. If you make us work hard with little reward, we'll switch to an easier option (and Leos always have options).

7. I didn't play hard to get, but the Leo still ghosted. Why?

Leos will ghost for one of three reasons:

#1. We were never interested in the first place. Leos can be flirts, but sometimes we can just be too nice (like Libra and Sags). So it's possible that you thought we were more interested than we actually were.

#2. You hurt us and we've gone cold. Leos are notorious for being warm like the sun. However when we're hurt we can turn dark and cold. It will be as if the sun disappeared. Sometimes the Leo will ghost not because of some terrible hurt, but because we realized the situation was not going to get any better. If we know that a situation will only end poorly, we can opt to either shut it down or leave.

#3. We're super busy. Like the other fixed signs, Leos can be workaholics. We also pride ourselves on being able to tackle our own issues. If we become slammed at work, school, etc we can temporarily ghost to iron out our lives. This is only a minor setback and shouldn't be cause for too much alarm. The Leo will usually reopen communication in a few days to a week depending on the depth of the relationship.

8. I said, "Let's be friends" and now the Leo won't talk to me. Do Leos not want friends?

Of course we want friends, but we only want legitimate friendships. Also we tend to make friends easily and are known to have consistent social groups. So if a Leo is interested in you romantically, they have no intention of being your friend.

That's not to say that a Leo can't be friends with you after a romance, but usually there needs to be time apart for this to happen (though not always). It really depends on the depth of the relationship. If you were just a a fling or a friends-with-benefits, then transitioning to friendship is usually easy. However if you were able to get inside a Leo's heart, then it will take a while for the Leo to process the breakup before considering a friendship. There's no promises that it will happen.

9. How can I get my Leo back?

It depends on how things ended. If things were messy, it will take a while for the Leo to get over the hurt. It's possible the Leo may never return. Give the Leo time and try reaching back out. If they don't respond, then you have your answer. It's possible that the Leo reaches back out when they are ready, but know the relationship will never be the same again.

Also know that if things ended, but the Leo is still communicating with you to some degree, then you have a better chance at reconciliation. This means that the Leo hasn't chosen to cut you out of their lives completely. It's much harder to get a Leo back once we've gone completely cold. You'll have a much easier time getting a Leo back if we are still harboring feelings for you. There's no guarantee that the Leo will return, but there's a better chance.

10. Why are Leos so confident and proud? Why do they have large egos?

Leo is ruled by the Sun. This means that Leo is in its domicile as a Sun sign placement. Since the Sun sign placement is how we express ourselves outwardly to the world, Leo is very comfortable in this self expression. Being comfortable in this way does come with it's own unique advantages and challenges.

From the beginning Leos learn to be resourceful and are generally skilled/masterful in at least one trade, hobby, etc. We are said to be talented and make both good students and teachers. We are also said to do well in positions of power as well as in the arts. On top of that we learn how to amass social circles and networks that are advantageous to our goals. This means that we can be very popular, which may make us appear to have big egos.

11. How do Leos mature?

Leos mature in stages and the stages are not dictated by age. Young Leos tend to be immature (insecure, jealous, arrogant, etc). These traits needs to be taught/learned away, but this doesn't always happen. Some sources define Leo's stages in three parts: The cub, the lion, and the sphinx. The cub is basically a Leo who is insecure and needs to be the center of attention at all times. The lion is more mature, but can still display traits such as arrogance and jealousy due to lack of personal wisdom in certain parts of life. The sphinx is said to the the most evolved, self realized stage of the Leo. At this stage the Leo avoids conflict choosing to lead by example.

12. Are Leos intelligent?

Yes, Leos can be moderately to extremely intelligent, but we're rarely unintelligent. We're also very observant and can be very intuitive. You can find a street smart Leo just as easily as a book smart Leo.

A Leo may also play dumb when interacting with new people. We do this when we're observing people's actions to understand their characters. Leos are aware that some people may try to take us for granted, so we play dumb as a way to see people for who they truly are. Once we have the full picture, we may start to show our intelligence more (or not, just depends on how we feel).

13. Do Leos make good parents?

We can yes, but like with any sign, no one is perfect. Leo is a sign of children, meaning that we can associate well with raising kids. However this isn't always true for everyone.

@ChuckCem what about Leo’s letting go of someone they really care about? Is it common to take a really long time or just those unrequited ones?

I always love your posts and responses 🙂
There's a question I wanted to put in, but literally ran out of space before I could.

14. How easy is it for Leos to let go of people?

That's tricky, because there's no "one size fits all" when it comes to how long a Leo will hold on to a person after things end between you. When a situation doesn't pan out between you two, the Leo may still hold on for a long time. If a Leo truly cared for you, you'll always be in that Leo's heart in some fashion. In this way it can even take years before a Leo truly let's you go.

So in truth it can take a while. Being a fixed sign, letting go isn't something we're particularly good at doing. HOWEVER, we can definitely make it APPEAR like we're gone. Leos are said to be masters of moving away because of this. If we were hurt, we will create distance to attempt getting over you faster (out of sight, out of mind).

The one way you'll know that a Leo hasn't completely let go is if there is still communication. When a Leo is done, we are done. We won't go out of our way to continue a connection. The burden of that will be yours alone and you'll probably give up once it's obvious that the Leo has no interest in speaking to you.

Oh how could I forget, here are more frequently asked questions. I snagged a question from above and brought it down below here.

15. Why did the Leo stop texting me? or Why don't Leos text?

Texting is an inferior form of communication (there, I said it). Leos just aren't big texters. We're physical people and like personal forms of communication. Texting is simply too impersonal and a lot of information can be lost when vocal intonation and body language are not factors.

Leos are also generally busy people. We can have large social networks on top of being workaholics. Leos can also be lazy as well. So the concept of typing out long paragraphs of conversation just isn't appealing to us when we can have verbal conversation much faster. So usually we'd prefer in person conversations, phone calls, or even video chat.

Does that mean that a Leo will never text? Of course not. Some Leos are fine with texting, but most Leos will prefer not to use it as the primary form of communication. We text because we live in a world where it is practically required. So understand that when a Leo "stops" texting or his short, it's not necessarily to be offensive. More than likely the Leo is simply texting to appease you. Really if a Leo is texting you frequently, it's a good sign.

16. Are Leos sexual?

Yes, we can be. We may not be overly expressive about it because we are proud, but for the most part we are usually very physical people.

17. Is sex important to a Leo in a romantc relationship

Generally yes. It's not the only thing that we want (because we want it all), but for the most part expect a Leo to want a physical relationship with you if you're seeking a romance. If a Leo isn't looking for a physical relationship with you in a romantic scenario, that could be a big red flag. In that case you would need to ask Leo about their intentions
