I get everything the OP is talking about. I like my casual emotionless romps as well.... to a degree. the only issue is the lying.... obviously you can't trust him. If he's willing to lie to his wife about where he's at, what he's doing, etc etc.... what makes you think he's not lying to you?

If you’ve started being busy or distant, this could lead to changed up tactics/ lies on his part to say he’s looking for a divorce.

Something has changed in the dynamics of your situation to make him start talking about things going “downhill”

He’s most likely lying to you and exasperating the situation at home.

Maybe he thinks you are disconnecting from him or tired of the situation.

Not many married men casually talk about divorce if things are going well on the side.
