I got my Moderna booster December 10 (8 months after my 2nd dose of Modena), a week before I left for my Bora Bora trip. Just had a sore arm, a restless night with some chills (no fever), and lots of headaches which I hadn’t previously had with other doses. I was very reluctant to get it that soon but it ended up working out cause by the time we came back from the trip, Omicron hit our city hard. We have family, relatives, friends and coworkers all get hit with Omicron at the same time. Luckily French Polynesia is very strict with entry that nonvaccinated had to pay more + were hassled to test more frequently after arrival and everyone's closely being monitored with needing to submit your detailed, exact locations for stays to the government. It was honestly the perfect vacation during a pandemic. You have the overwater bungalow villas more than 20 ft apart from each other with constant fresh air coming in. Most of the resort restaurants have incredible outdoor options. I felt so safe being maskless there the entire time. Had to covid test like 4 times in a span of 2 weeks. Now back in Texas Omicron is on fire. I can't stand how some people are downplaying it by saying it's weaker than Delta. So it makes it more okay to accept it's alright to get exposed to it to justify the unnecessary gatherings during the massively, biggest wave to date?! I get people are getting tired but God, I'm so annoyed at the people already submitting themselves to it and trying to drag you to accept the fate too. Just let me stay in my corner double masked away from your reckless asses. It’s only until the wave blows over… it’s like people stopped having any ounce of patience.
