With marriages declining, it’s also increasingly common of girlfriends to cook, clean and do all these “wifely duties” without the ring. Even TikTok has a bunch of content encouraging the younger generation to stop until he puts a ring on it !! I personally barely cook and we get house cleaning services periodically.

And no shade for women who want that stay at home life. Its not for me cause I want to be paid for my labor.

I was raised in a household that had that traditional gender roles outlook and it shows. Me and my sister are successful in life, we own property... we have careers, not jobs. While my brothers are living that struggle life month to month. Is it because they were taught that women's purpose in life is to cater to their needs? IDK. I keep telling them having your mom do your laundry is not cute when you hit 30.

I know the lesson was supposed to be that our purpose as women is to be a help mate. But nope, main character energy only. Now that I think about it, a lot of the childhood indoctrination backfired in a big way. They tried tho.

I don't see how your brothers not succeeding has anything to do with them being raised traditionally. Makes no sense.

Because they were raised in an environment where they did not have to lift a finger, they were catered too and taught that this is the way it is. Real life is not like this.
Lost out on important life lessons like time management and self sufficiency to name a few.

The boys in Irish culture are raised the same way...the girls do all the work. I remember our kid saying what useless mammy’s boys his peers were. When he left home at 18 he could cook, clean, wash, iron etc and has never asked me how to do anything. Women spoil their sons not realizing how useless they render them...

Ugh thats what I hated about the Aries. He expected me to work part-time to take care of our imaginary kids. Thank god I didn't marry him😂
