Thanks for the responses! I understand he did not necessarily wanted a serious relationship with me though I suspect he might have said that to warm me up to him (he brought up this topic) because I was keeping my distance. He invited me to this place in a country where I wanted to visit so I thought it was a good opportunity to go. I was not planning to hook up with him but he was very affectionate and courteous (at first).
