I guess it depends on how broken it is. I hate to give up on relationships if we both still have feelings and it’s salvageable (both are choosing to be willing to continue to work through issues).

I agree that a lot of people stay when they shouldn’t though, when it’s way past expiration.

This is how I feel. I would never stay in a toxic or abusive relationship where it’s blatantly unhealthy or harmful for me.. but for the same reason that I know that I’m not perfect, I also realize that other people are not perfect either. So it’s not difficult for me to forgive or give second chances.

I don’t mind relationships that require a little work… when you put two imperfect people together, it’s just not realistic to expect a perfect relationship. Love and relationships tend to bring up all types of triggers and insecurities in all of us if we are being honest, so even if I see someone’s ugly or dark side (jealousy, insecurities etc) that wouldn’t be a deal breaker unless it was excessive.

But betrayal and abuse are the exceptions… trust and safety (emotional and physical) are not negotiable for me.
