OMG, a big yes at respecting your elders. I'm a huge fan of that one. I still stand up for an old person sit if there are no other sits available. I do not stand up for pregnant women though, not my problem you're pregnant. Some even give you a look that tells you to get up, I don't.
Hm, I don't really get that, because it's not really your problem someone is old or handicapped either, if a woman is heavily pregnant I would definitely give up my seat.
And yeah, my nickname in college was "grandma" because a lot of my old-fashioned mannerisms. I hate to sound dramatic but I find the general lack of respect and consideration out in society today to be very draining.

So you'd sit down and watch an older person stand and struggle with a train/bus ride standing? Typical youngster of today with no respect!! Do you berate your mother too?
