I think you just really LUV your pet... you must be a "pet person"... not weird... I will go so far as to "nuke" my dog any leftovers that are ready to be tossed from the fridge... but bake him treats? ummmm.... probably not:-)
I brought my pet( a lab) for my son. Right from the beginig his menu was the same as my son's. He sleeps in the same room as my son on a special fluffy rug.
I dunno, I do the same thing for my pets Tiamat, I think its because when I was growing up we had a pommeranian that had papers, (she came from a good line of show dogs).
My mom used to cook her food because she was such a picky eater, she simply would not eat any dog food we tried period. She wanted our food and nothing else would do,lol.
So I think its just because that was the example I grew up with, and thats why I do it if needed aslo for our pets.
We are not crazy, we just love them bunches, right Tiamat! lol.
