Hi fishies.... So I've been intrigued by this for a while - but I'm not versed enough in the stuff to quite understand how it affects the chart.
I have... 6 planets, and my north node (is that important to be Rx?) in Rx... I've read information on how the retro affects planet placements in the natal chart.
Curious about people that have retro planets, and those that don't - but I'm not sure how to phrase my question.
Sooo - I guess if people with retros can chime in if they relate to the applicable descriptions, and also anything that you don't have retro - do you associate with anything described in the retro meaning on that site?
My goodness, I have a feeling I will probably delete this thread in like 3 minutes due to my own lack of clarity (yes Merc is retro for me (imagine if I was trying to tell you this verbally!)
For the less inclined to click on links - the Coles Notes:

No worries! What placements do you have retro? (I'm just curious if you relate to any of the posted information) and if it corresponds to a retro planet or not.
haha my apologies! Have you ever noticed an R next to anything in your charts and ignored it because you didn't know what it was there for? That'd be a retro planet in your chart.
Hahah, yeah, sometimes I think maybe I could retro back somewhere too - try again like. But most of the time I try to live with no regret because I'm at peace with who I am, and how I became that. MOST of the time. 🙂
Here's hoping ninjafish comes in and sheds some light for me!
i can add some information to this topic. in all honestly, it sparked a curiosity within...i have been doing astrology for over 5 years now and i consider myself to be 'well-versed'...or so i've been told anyway, but no matter...it seems as if i've spent a majority of my time learning about the sign of pisces, aspects, etc...and neglected the 'outer planets' and their importance...so i went back to find my retrograde planets (i knew there was one, for sure...i did not know there were three lol)...i was surprised...
here are my plantetary placement: ------------------------------------------------------- Astrological Data for Jack 3 (male) born on 5 March 1981 - Local time: 12:45 pm 92w17, 34n45

A retrograde Jupiter brings with it the deep desire to gain insight through an inwardly directed search for truth and spiritual principles. This means that your answers to philosophical, moral and spiritual questions are more likely to be based on intuitive realisations than on the tenets and dogma of organized religion. But this also means that you can be at odds with the commonly held ideas of this culture, where material aquisition matters more than and the riches and abundance that may be found within. ------------------------------------------------------- Saturn is Retrograde in Libra
Saturn retrograde represents the reworking and perfecting of past life energies. In the birth chart Saturn's retograde motion indicates the personality that tends to internalise the discipline and ambition normally associated with worldly achievement. Even though worldly recognition and achievement is wished for, there is a reluctance to pursue this; or alternatively feelings of inferiority and insecurity simply make it difficult to achieve the needed impetus. This brings with it a great deal of self-criticism and a focus on past unfinished business
, resulting in a striving for perfection in any area in which there is dissatisfaction with prior efforts. Areas that come to the fore under Saturn's influence are one's relationship with one's father, that with authority figures and those in power, and as well as issues relating to personal responsibility. ------------------------------------------------------- Uranus is Retrograde in Sagittarius
Uranus retrograde represents the underlying inconsistencies and restrictions that impede one's progress. In the birth chart Uranus' retrograde motion provides a need for freedom and independent action. This results in a striving to free oneself from past preconditioned ideas and an ongoing search for the truth in all concepts and all aspects of life. This placement is therefore often productive of inventiveness and of unique ideas that are ahead of their time. Unfortunately, a retrograde Uranus can also manifest itself through an inclination to dominate others. ------------------------------------------------------- Pluto is Retrograde in Libra
Pluto retrograde represents a conquering of the past and rebirth. As Pluto is retrograde in around half of all birth charts, it is clearly less significant than the retrograde motion of other planets. Nevertheless, here Pluto's transformative power works in reverse by focusing on unseen processes rather than on that which is visible. When this is working well, it provides great energy to the inner dynamics of the personality so that the underlying spirit can express itself more freely. The power of an unbridled Pluto can be challenging for many people, and is often suppressed, only to eventually erupt as anger, self-condemnation and other destructive emotional expressions. Thus the challenge here is to control and focus Pluto's power, and to learn to bend it to one's will and personal progress. ------------------------------------------------------- a lot of interesting information...
Are those descriptions you have specific to the sign they are in? I only share Pluto in Libra with you is why I ask (although I do seem to identify with some of the others)...
the information is, in fact, sign specific...i found a wonderful resource when i was searching for information regarding this topic...give me just a few minutes and i will see if i can locate it...i'm pretty sure i bookmarked it...
and here is a link to the retrograde information...if you click this one, you should be able to change the planet and the sign in the address bar, and it take you right to the specific info you need...
Soooo... they appear to be all the same descriptions as what you posted - despite changing the sign the retro is in. Still a good read. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around some of it today though. I will be checking back on it in a few days when hopefully it makes more sense to me 🙂
Someone posted some good info on this on the Astrology board before but I can't find it.
What was pointed out though was that the outer planets (Jupiter/Saturn/Uranus/Neptune/Pluto) are retrograde roughly 5 months of the year, so most of us will have these retro in our natal charts so they are deemed to be of lesser significance.
