Is Chareslton a sign of things to come?

Are we really on the verge of civil unrest this deep? Racial tension and hatred this fierce? Not to mention that we are having a silent standoff with north Korea. Just wondering if anybody else noticed the racial battle Im Virginia and what's yall thou

Because it's the Trump Era, and what was previously taboo and untenable is now permissible.

The President's condemnation of an openly and unabashedly white supremacist rally (never mind the horrible car incident) amounts to "it's violence on all sides."

Uh huh.

How do you like that. White supremacists, with the KKK openly prancing about, gets *that* reaction.

When the ostensible representative of the free world doesn't care about (and tacitly encourages) bringing the worst out in others – whether for reasons direct or indirect, the result is inevitable.

You'll survive this. You'll get your chance in four years or so, barring anything crazy happening. Your country survived Kent State and the Vietnam era. It can handle plenty of social unrest and still stay afloat.

(Just needs to keep his finger off the nuke button in particular.)
A breeze from the grave. Sun/Mercury/Venus Libra, Moon/Mars Aquarius.
Thomas Hobbes, one of the greatest philosophers, dared to assert that “war is the natural state of man“. Human nature, always competitive, and the right of each to all things are a prelude for conflict.

The Army as early as 1963 has being studying, and practicing, going into American cities and “restore order.”
Anyone ever heard of “Operation Garden Plot“? This was the operational name of the exercises where combat divisions would be airlifted into key cities to assume a “Law and Order” role after suppressing the people who might be in revolt. The Pentagon activated Garden Plot to restore order during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

Best years are gone. My firm belief is that it will only get worse once climatic changes are more evident and certain resources scarce. And for sure those who have will want to protect their goods from those who don't. I'm prepared.

The conflict was always there, it's not taboo anymore to keep it hidden.

Maybe it time to clean out the skeletons and cobwebs from the American closet.

Trump made it easier to be a visible douchebag.

Everybody has pretty much said the exact same thing I was thinking. Trump making hate and fear acceptable. I just want to see how he handles this going forward.

And I also feel like this is just the beginning. I feel like things are really about to get worse but Im more concerned with what he will do with north korea
here to help inflate your ego 1 lie at a time
I guess now would be the time we hold hands, close our eyes, and make a circle

Astrologically speaking i think those two elements and people that are heavily influenced by those energies are the one's that are usually behind all this...on both sides.

Found this interesting:

"This an extraordinarily complex situation, and as such will be misrepresented and simplified by the media.

The Charlottesville clash was precipitated by the Charlottesville City Council changing the name of Robert E Lee Park to Emancipation Park and taking down the Robert E Lee statue.

The Charlottesville City Council is fully in their right to do this, and conversely individuals who disagree with the decision are fully in their right to protest this decision.

The legacy of the Confederacy is very complicated. In one sense the Confederacy was based on defense of the racist institution of slavery, and in another sense based on state's rights.

Robert E Lee believed at the outset that secession from the Union to defend slavery was not a good idea, but he found himself choosing to take the side of Virginia in the impending war with the United States.

For some, Robert E Lee represents the racist subjugation of African Americans, for others he represents the defense of Southern independence from the federal government.

There's no doubt that there were white nationalists who came to protest the removal of the statue. Their views were on display in the form of racist signs and symbols in today's clash. However, there is no doubt some who protest the removal of the statue, who don't hold racist views but see the Robert E Lee statue as a symbol of Virginia and the South and the effort to cleanse the South of Confederate symbols as a politically-correct campaign to white-wash history.

As for the counter-protesters, these too likely had a mixture of groups and intentions. For some, they came to legitimately protest what they see as a racist campaign to defend the Confederacy. However there is no doubt that the anarchist/Marxist group Antifa came not to protest, but to forcefully/violently prevent the legal assembly of statue removal protesters.

The pro-Robert E Lee statue protesters obviously anticipated Antifa blocking them so they brought shields and weapons to defend/attack and allow them to protest the statue removal. Antifa obviously anticipated the clash as they too brought shields and weapons. A recipe for disaster and thus the clash - a well anticipated and orchestrated event.

Lost in the clash, are the peaceful individuals on both sides who legitimately wanted to practice their freedom of speech and assembly to protest and counter-protest.

These complexities will likely be washed over and this will simply become a result of the Trump presidency. As the media already showing they are blaming Breitbart and Steve Bannon. This completely ignores the relatively recent phenomenon of Confederacy legacy removal.

No doubt, if Hillary Clinton was president we would see the same sort of clash play out again and again.

What's the solution? I don't know. But I feel it's important to take an honest overview of all sides in this complex situation."

The most iconic image I've seen come out of all this. This police officer is a better man than that entire crowd combined. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DHDnY4vVoAAwFAW?format=jpg

The only part of that essay that you got right is both sides came ready to raise some hell.

As for the rest: playing down the fact that 'true' conservatives want this country to go back to 1950, and stay there.
