I came across an IG account aimed at those who were used and abused by narcissists. After reading several of the images they posted, I realized that these can relate quite a bit to many of the women who come here with their "relationship" woes. (quoted because some of these situations are not relationships, just situationships).

These are spot on
Yep.

Funnily enough, as I'm reading these, I was like holy crap, this is a lot of the Libra stories I see (and experienced) to a T. But I've also seen it with other signs and know I've seen the same stories over and over across the board.

Unfortunately, the dating pool seems to be brimming with these types. We've raised several generations with the "all about me" mentality and they approach dating the same way- "What can I get out of this person that benefits me?"

In turn, we see this narcissistic behavior going on and so many women are just falling for this garbage and we have assholes here encouraging them to tough it out and make up grey areas that excuse such shitty behavior.

It sucks when you're in the middle of it and cannot see clearly, but some women just refuse to try to do anything about it because of the manipulation you see listed above. It speaks volumes about their own self esteem and poor emotional health.

Are all con artists narcissists? :-P

But ya..it's never the person's fault. True the beginning was not real.

TY.
It only becomes the person's fault if they refuse to do anything to get themselves out, which many here do. They continue making excuses and using flawed, fairy tale logic to continue to stay.

They basically want to stick around in hopes of the honeymoon dude they saw at first will come back. He won't. Give a dude at least 3 months and he'll show you who he really is.

And that is why I see red flags and I'm in fight or flight mode. I've experienced some these stuff when I was younger. Now? I just drop them. Hurts yeah but I won't be taken advantage of ever again.

Yep. And doing what you have to do can be hard, but you at least know you have to do it and start working toward that. Some women just stick around and stupidly hope that things will change back to the fairy tale he fed you in the beginning.

It's just sad and pathetically desperate.

Rocky, please. As if most women, deep down, can't tell when they're being conned / sold a dream. As if most women care about being rational / reasonable in the context of dating / relationships. Just lol

I don't like girls who aren't a girls girl and suck up to men by blaming the other gender. It reeks of insecurity.

The lullaby of the insecure is ...I am too savvy to be conned. You're not. You are as vulnerable and equal to every other woman on here.
Its quite obvious (even to the men) and reeks of the inability to think for oneself in favor of being seen as a "guys girl" or as "hot."

There are a lot of water sign women who do this, probably don't realize its to their detriment.

I'm not. I think the con artists should just stop pulling their crap.

Their biggest con is telling people it's their job to avoid being conned. Like you should avoid being stalked or cheated on etc. BS.

Assholes should just be normal.

I am in full support of this information being put out so we understand the signs.

I wish I had known these things before I got involved with a gemini from hell several years ago..

I think its great to bring attention to these signs.

More women can try & save their emotions and hopefully not get sucked into bad situations.

I do think we are responsible for ourselves ultimately.

Yes, men are routinely taught tactics in many seduction communities on how to keep women on a string, how to game women etc.

Pathological and narcissistic behavior have become socially acceptable and seen as normal even women see it as normal, its so strange.

Nah. I'm saying I disagreed with some females the other day and got called out for siding with the boys to get in good with them. On the internet. When I'm happily coupled IRL. Uh, huh...

Simply saying, all we have here is our opinion. Don't let anyone try to sway your truth.

The problem is so many women on this forum are overly eager to side with the dudes even if they are wrong just to seem relevant, hot, popular or open minded. Most men on this forum throw women under the bus and easily label them. Ive been called a thot & a golddgger on several threads by quite a few men simply because I don't take popular opinion, I like to think for myself and sometimes (((gasp))) I side with women.

Rocky,

Great thread, but those type of men have an uncanny knack for finding damaged women. Not bad women, just down on their luck or not in the right head space. You can post this stuff till the cows come home, but until those women are whole, they'll continue to make excuses for them.

OP i don't doubt you come from a good place of intent.
You are off your rocker 99% of the time here and it's getting really fucking annoying.

You come traipsing into this thread, going on about your unrealistic, fucked view in situations like this. Given the stats, and societal "norms," there's a good chance that a majority of women have found themselves in similar situations. It's all about the learning curve and whether some of these women CHOOSE to stay, which is very much on them and does not absolve them of responsibility on their part, despite your silly belief that it does.

This thread is meant to shine a light on the lost and clueless on this site, not for you to drag your flawed, silly bitch logic into, polluting it with your mentally unstable drivel. You're just as damaging as the men you complain about. Be gone. Ain't nobody got time for that.

These "types" of women cannot be helped bc they don't listen. Surely you must have friends or friends of friends like that? They get off on being treated poorly and the excitement of not knowing where they have the guy. A woman who's been abused by a previous partner or partners and kept going through the same patterns will never settle for a balanced person. Any decent man to come after that will surely feel like a wet blanket in no time.

Bottom line these women don't know how to love or how to be loved. They attract what they deserve until they learn how to love themselves. You cannot teach them that. This thread can't teach them that.

I have 0 sympathy for these "victims". If they are victims then so are these narcissists as you call them bc as with all people, our malfunctions whatever they may be, must stem from somewhere. We are all victims of ourselves.. if you care to go that deep. I don't on this particular topic.

you are very correct that there are these martyr types that nothing is ever their fault!! they can't be helped and i know we've all tried at some point.

i think what we are speaking on is especially for some of us in our 30's, experiences we may have had personally while growing as women. It is easy to say don't be a target but when manipulative people see certain characteristics in you, and at a young age, they see an opportunity. whether it is a giving personality as i spoke of previously, or wealth, or whatever it is they see they want. it all stems from selfishness i think. i could go way off in the deep end on this one. lol

personally speaking, as a rather good- natured and naiive person growing up, i was a target to some selfish people like this. i didn't think this was a topic to support a victim type of attitude rather than to watch for the signs so as not to fall into such a cycle. it's not a man hating topic either. for empathetic people such as myself, it's maddening to see people (mostly younger than me) go through similar circumstances and not want to help. but you can bet anyone whose here also sees through victim bs by now too.

It's sad and infuriating to know that there are abused women out there who are just not getting the help they need! My community is severely lacking in a proper safe haven for abused women with children to go. Perhaps instead of building a wall, we should build more shelters!
My community has one. It even has instructions right on the front page of their website to tell you how to "go incognito" and get out safely. And the location is not published. It's so important, because women who are killed by abusive partners are often killed when they try to leave. And this is almost never part of the discussion!

This is why people need down time after break ups and the like. People have it stupidly drilled into their heads that they HAVE to date after break ups in order to get over it, but all it does is create a shitty scenario for guys like this to prey on, and more emotional damage is happening in the process.

People need to stop being so desperate and stupid.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, there is a simple lesson that all girls were once taught--that boys and young men are highly sexual, and most are looking to "spread their seed" and that some of them will do or say anything to convince a girl to have sex, including fucking with your emotions and lying to you. Is that behavior "narcissistic"? Well, yes, but it's also normal. In the rush to become sexually equal, it's like we stopped teaching that lesson. It's not that girls don't want sex, and it's not that no girl wants casual sex, but it is true that more boys want casual sex than girls.

As for older adults, men or women can develop narcissistic behaviors in dating, and in fact, these behaviors are sold as techniques--withholding contact, never saying you're sorry, never giving compliments...just bafflingly bad advice meant to put the other person in a state of desperation. It does work, temporarily, but it's mean, and it's narcissistic.

But not REALLY narcissistic. You can't go around diagnosing every guy you date who treats you some kinda way with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It's actually a rare disorder that starts in early childhood. It's just another buzzword from psychology, like "triggered" that's overused now. It's just reductive to go around applying it willy-nilly and lacks an understanding of the complexity of human behavior.
Ladies and gentlemen, a giant blurb of excusing bad behavior as "normal."

Regardless of the pics being from a anti narcissist group, it was the overall message that actually applies to a lot of dating scenarios you hear about when it comes to those seeking advice. I'm glad the point was lost on you.

i feel like especially in the south, women are particularly led to believe at an early age that marriage and babies are the end all be all rather than knowing oneself and accomplishing personal goals. things have changed over the years since i was young and will keep changing. i think there is a bigger push now for personal development with all the relationship problems becoming more publicized via social media. age of aquarius is upon us some im hoping this feeling of altruism continues for me at least.

There are people, not just men, who have a knack for preying on the people's vulnerabilities. Male and Female. Regardless of age. The thing here is that people (mostly) want to love and be loved. That in itself is in no way shape or form, a flaw. It's human nature. There are predators and prey on both sides.

Narcissism is a taught/learned behavior generally instilled by a parent(s) teaching their child that they can do absolutely no wrong. I studied it after going through the last year of marriage with the Taurus. The counselor also addressed his Narcissistic traits...

I don't have his other placements. No idea what time he was born. I just started studying natal charts this past summer.

Rocky, please. As if most women, deep down, can't tell when they're being conned / sold a dream. As if most women care about being rational / reasonable in the context of dating / relationships. Just lol
There are quite a few young women on this forum who are not able to understand the signs, or who are naiive.
Oh and you aren't?
No, I have been!

I'm in full support of this thread.

I don't think anyone can recognize foul play for as long as he is not giving any red flags. Once the red flags start accumulating....it doesn't matter if he is a narcissist, a player, a compulsive liar, or simply a loser...what keeps you around?

We are unlikely to educate women on how to recognize a bastard during dating, most likely on when to kick the bastard out of their lives!

Funny thing is. This to some extent sounds like what it was like with my ex. I mean not exactly but it might be because of the differences in the social dynamics between the man's side and the woman's.

So this isn't just a thing women face from narcisstic men. Narcissistic women exist too and they do it too.

Please read the title and realize this isn't about you. Kthx.
