Dragonball Z Characters & their Zodaic

I was wondering about an old show from childhood. What do you think of them (Goku, Vegeta, etc) & why.

Why did you choose Taurus for Buu ? And Capricorn moon for Freeza and Cell ?

Buu is a bit more complicated due to his split personalities and forms. First for Buu it was the stereotype for his love for food and his fixed nature that led me to pick Taurus. Buu is shown to be very stubborn overall. He's either on or he's off. Therefore he's nearly impossible to persude. He's either taking a nap or destroying worlds with very little in between, which is why I attributed him to having fixed energy with an Aries Moon/energy as well.

That being said, when Buu is in his Fat form, Super form, and Kid form he is also shown to be fairly calm unless he is agitated. When he is agitated he becomes vengeful and blindly seeks to destroy the person who agitated him, almost forgetting anyone else around him. This is shown when he blows up the Earth but still searches the universe for Goku and Vegeta. In fact it's stated wants he's done destroying he just goes back to sleep.

In his Kid form he is more immature and easier to disturb. When disturbed he becomes enraged, single minded, and nearly impossible to stop. He's literally a bull in a China shop. However his love for destruction is not just part of his personality, it's also a part of his function. It's his job. He just happens to like his job and does it well.

He is also shown to easily be distracted by food and naps (especially in his Fat form). So much so that he stops caring about destruction. Once he expels the combative Evil Buu from his body (his Aries Moon), he becomes more docile since he's pure good. Then Kid Buu dies and is reincarnated as the kindhearted Uub, who also seems to display more Taurean traits.

I went with Cap Moon for Freeza and Cell because of their lust for power (Cell's lust stemming from Freeza's cells). There is also a dark nature to Capricorn energy along with a methodical/emotionless mindset. Both villains, though vain, showed tactical prowess to breakdown their enemies. Unlike Buu, they psychologically tear down their enemies through fear as well.

Another thing about Cap Moons is they can feel uneasy if they don't attain their version of success. For Freeza it was the pure domination of the universe, while for Cell it was reaching perfection. Both characters are shown to be irritable and restless when they aren't at their peaks (this is Freeza after Goku turns Super Saiyan and Cell before he becomes perfect).

Cap Moons have no problem utilizing a variety of strategies to attain their goals and some can be entirely self-serving in the process. Freeza is fine with fighting in person or destroying a planet from orbit. Cell is fine fighting in a tournament or blowing himself up.

And now for the most " sensible " part, why Libra for Krilin and Yamcha ?

They are the peacekeepers in the group. They aren't the first to enter an altercation, but will fight when their friends are in trouble. They are more prone to being mediators first if cooler heads can prevail and prefer not to fight unless it's necessary. Yamcha is more of the ladies man while Krillin is more of the romantic. Both are satisfied with a more relaxed life style .

That's so funny. Well looks like Buu is a Taurus after all according to the wiki, May 8th, Age 774:

Funny I never thought to check the wiki first. Though this wiki seems to list a lot of the characters as having May 8th birthdays. Also I can see Bulma as a Leo too.

There's just no way he is Aquarius, come on you're biased here ! Hahaha
I would have said Sag sun and moon in Gemini
For Vegeta, i see him with a Scorpio sun and Aries moon, something like that

How am I biased? I'm not an Aqua. Also Goku sticks to one activity and isn't prone to spurts of boredom like a Gemini Moon would be. Geminis typically need a variety activities/projects to help keep their attention since they can get bored on a single activity easily. His adventurous spirit makes more sense as a Sag Moon.

The other reason I don't see Goku as a Sag Sun is because he isn't compelled to argue his point if someone else doesn't agree with him. Sags are notorious for sticking to their own sense of justice and will argue their point adamantly when confronted. They can have a bad habit of "beating a dead horse" in arguments. Goku doesn't do this. He is also shown to remain logical during a life/death situations, not giving in to the same emotions like the other characters. The rare times he becomes emotional, he explodes into a burst of anger and reaches a new form (i.e. Super Saiyan). This is very similar to how Aquarians explode when they are enraged.

While Sags are adventurous, they aren't unemotinal or detached. They are warm people who still seek love, even though they can be difficult to pin down romantically. This is also why Sagittarius are thought to be lecherous as well. This isn't Goku. He doesn't care much about love or passion outside of training. This is also why his marriage seems loveless. In fact he's only married because he didn't understand what marriage was. Phyical intimacy isn't high on his list of priorities either (again, he's said to never have kissed ChiChi). That's not very Sag-like.

Also while Goku enjoys a good adventure, his motivation is to be the best. It's not the pursuit of knowledge or justice, which would be the case if he were a Sag Sun. Any knowledge he seeks usually pertains to him becoming a stronger fighter. For him being the best fighter is the core of his character, more than his friends, family, and even protecting the Earth (again there are some character tweaks between the English and Japanese versions).

Vegeta is too brash and isn't calculating enough to be a Scorpio. Yes Vegeta may seek revenge, but he isn't very subtle about it, unlike a Scorpio. While he can be a cunning tactician (like an Aries), he far too often loses his cool and rushes in head first into battle (like an Aries). He also doesn't plan out his attacks thouroughly and relies on improvisation instead. For example when he fought Freeza, the Androids, and Cell.

Vegeta's also far too proud for his own good. His ego is huge which meant he often only trained by himself. He was too proud to even accept the help from his own son. He's argumentative and arrogant, but deep down has a big heart. He never wants to be put in a position of weakness like he was when he had to serve under Freeza. He also regards Bulma has his "princess" and has been show to genuinely only have eyes for her, even if he never states his love outright. Aries people too can have a have a hard time verbalizing their deep emotions, fearing it will make them look weak.

I think that his " carefree " and adventurous nature and his desire to " save the world " so to speak are traits that belongs to Sagittarius more than Aquarius. These qualities are prominents in the anime, in my opinion.
We both agree to the fact that he must be, obviously, a combination of fire and air, however i don't see the " coldness " or the " superiority complex "/" ego " in him, that's why i think more of Gemini rather than Aquarius

Yes exactly ! That's why i said Scorpio because everything that you listed belongs to them in my opinion especially the ego part and he don't want to appear vulnerable. He wants power, his passion drives him, and once he set his eyes on something there's nothing that can change his mind and that's a quality that belongs to a fixed sign. I think that Aries are more prone to show their affection even if they don't always verbalize it, they are more impulsive too that's why he often acts before he thinks
( I admit he is my favorite character so i'm not objective at all on this one haha )

I have yet to see if i agree with the rest of the characters

Not all Aquas are cold with surperiority complexes, that's just the general stereotype. However if we're going to go with stereotypes Goku does have a bit of a messaiah complex and often acts out plans to save humanity without consulting his friends or family.

When it comes to fighting he does have a know it all mentality because he's a fighting genius. For example when he sent Gohan in to fight Cell. Piccolo had to point out that while Gohan may have the power, he didn't lust for battle the same way Goku did. It was only then that Goku began to see his friends' protests about having Gohan fight. Before that he couldn't understand his son's emotional disposition.

This is also true whenever he chooses to let certain characters like Freeza (on Namek) or The Androids (after meeting Future Trunks) live even though they've proven to be beyond redeeming. This is because of his own confirmation bias that all evil can be turned to good (Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, etc) and that he can't judge people.

Goku also believes he can beat anyone if he trains hard enough, which actually still puts the Earth and his friends in danger. This is all because of his fixed nature. Notice that he even though he seems to be on a team, he's usually fighting the majority of his battles alone. Granted this is because he's the strongest, but Goku never thinks to train his friends to become better either. Even when he's not fighting he's telling his friends what to do (or rather not to do), like when he stopped Piccolo from helping Gohan against Cell or the times he's refused to be brought back by the dragon.

Also remember that Aquas are known for their concern for other people over those closest to them as well. They are the zodiac humanists and often root for the underdog. I'm not saying that Goku couldn't be a Sag, but he does things that a Sag often wouldn't. Trunks on the other hand is warm and persistent the same way a Sag would be. He constantly tries to change Vegeta's mind about both him and the Androids, to no avail. His Future and baby version are also shown to be a bit shy, which can be a common trait in Sags. Kid Trunks however (having grown up under Vegeta) is more fiery and outgoing like other type of Sag.

Another thing I'll mention is that Sag Suns, though argumentative when they are confronted about something believe, still know how to hold their tongues. Sag Moons though tend to blurt things out before thinking. If there's one thing Goku isn't known for, it's tact.

Also remember Vegeta's lust for power faded once he left Namek. While he still mentions his birthright and heritage as a Saiyan, his outlook changed once he started a family. He basically dropped those goals entirely once back on Earth and chose to rival Goku instead.

If he were a Scorpio he'd seek to regain his lost kingdom, regardless of Freeza's defeat. He would be working behind the scenes to achieve this unbeknownst to the other characters. Vegeta would have used the Earth's dragonballs to wish for more power at some point. He wouldnt not have let his pride get in the way of his vengance. Instead Vegeta's mind changes and he basically forgets about those ambitions (or rather they lose their importance).

Also unlike a Scorpio, Vegeta is a bit of a show off. Again he's not subtle like a Scorpio and rushes in before thinking like an Aries. When he gets new power he proudly and arrogantly flaunts it in front of his enemies, much like a Leo. This is shown through the series before he is humbled in the Buu Saga. Also Vegeta hates public humiliation

The humanist part is a stereotype as well you know haha but since we're talking about anime character i don't know how we should based our thoughts honestly
But i don't think he is a know it all, it's rather the opposite, he knows what he can or can't do and his analytical/strategist part clash with his carefree and cheerful nature. Goku don't care about anything besides eating, fighting, and be more knowledgable hence why i'm more encline to say Sag sun and Gem moon however i do agree that he can have some fixed qualities and the fact that he is tactless too

Hmm i think that if he was a Capricorn then he would seek to regain his kingdom for the sake of his pride and his fundations but, you said a key word here " change ". Scorpios changes, they evolve, and we can notice the cycle of death and rebirth with him. Also, once something is done he don't look back, he did everything alone, and he appear quite cold whereas inside of him there's a fire burning that's not really Aries-like

Why did you choose Taurus for Buu ? And Capricorn moon for Freeza and Cell ?
