I can relate to how you feel, because I'm the typical Aquarian. Although we are different from an Aries in many ways externally, there are many similarities internally in the way we think. A typical Aries is self-centered and shallow, a typical Aquarius is also egotistical. The difference is we express it a bit differently. People think we are visionaries of the future and have wacky style s because we are freebirds, when in all reality it is our way of saying "Hey! Look at me! I'm awesome!" An Aries, on the other hand, will sit around and talk about themselves all day. There is one Aries in particular that I know that always gets overly excited whenever we are talking about him or a subject that relates to his interest. It's cute, but sometimes it's frustrating when things feel so one-sided.
Every sign has their advantages and disadvantages. Although I admire the water signs for their ability to connect with people and understand life better from an emotional standpoint, I would not want to be cursed with feeling overwhelmed by emotions all of the time. That is where it is an advantage to feel more detached. You will hear water signs mention how they wish they could be more like us in that sense, because it can become stressful for them. An Aries lacks emotional depth, but has the ability to lift people out of their slumber with their simplicity. I admire that. Many Aries that I know are always a joy to be around. They're adventurous, fun-loving, and usually very smart.
