Hello. I live in Legazpi, Philippines, which is in itself already a tourist destination since it's the perfect place to view the majestic and spectacular Mayon Volcano, a nearly-perfect shaped volcano.

Legazpi is also the jump-off point to so many interesting places to visit, among which are white-sand beaches, waterfalls, old churches built during the Spanish colonial period, rolling hills, beautiful islands, and many more!

We also have a distinct cuisine distinguishable from the general Filipino cuisine. Our cuisine has also attained a notorious identity due to the heavy use of coconut milk and chili peppers. Look for Bicolano cuisine and have a taste of the local delicacies at some local restaurants serving them!

    Some interesting places to visit:

    1. Legazpi City - for the panoramic view of Mayon Volcano and Pacific Ocean

    2. Caramoan Peninsula and surrounding islands - beautiful white-sand beaches and islands filled with limestone cliffs and surrounded by beautiful coral reefs

    3. Subic Beach in Matnog, Sorsogon and surrounding islands - off the southernmost tip of the island of Luzon is the pink-colored beach known as Subic Beach. Near and around it are other attractions such as the Juag Fish Sanctuary and Biri island (about 3 hours away)

    4. Quitinday Hills in Camalig, Albay - popularly known as Green Hills due to their color and shape but also known as Pili Nut Hills. To my mind, it's more appropriate to call it "Crocodile Hills." Their interesting shape would tell you why they're called as such.

    5. Quitinday Underground River - it's a river inside a cave, hence, the name. Somewhere along the way there's a waterfalls to accentuate your experience. Cool, refreshing waters too.
