It's okay, I'm doing fine! And I'm planning to break up with my girlfriend cause I think I'm not mature enough to be a full-time relationship. I feel like I'm a jerk because of that.

You're not working at the Square, anylonger, Candeh?
Chantilly isn't far from the stomping grounds of my youth.
About once a month, we have a private poker game at our house ... you should come.

I have a couple of friends in Australia, but, no, I've never lived there. Just checked out Carlie Hunter - she's incredible! It's amazing how the moves looked like they took no effort but it was obvious that she put a lot of time and dedication. My favorite teacher used to say, "Talent just makes up 1% (of how good you are), 99% is effort."
Oh, if you end up deciding on moving to New York (or will be going up there for a trip), tell me! There are places (restaurants, etc.) that I can recommend.

Candeh yah you guys can go to the caribbean pretty easily and Europe too, that's i think the #1 thing i hate about the Northwest, too far from everything, so we pay way more to do anything.

The sad reality is the reason why these meds are so dangerous is that they reduce the amount of serotonin (neuro transmitter in your brain) which brings about calmness, contentment and happiness etc.) People who are depressed, stressed out, anxious etc. already have lower amounts of serotonin. So how does taking a med that reduces it even lower make any sense? It doesn't. What it does do is make patients get sucked into the false promises of Big Pharma and gets them hooked to this crap. When one drug doesn't work, their wonderful physician prescribes them another, and another and another......It's all one big complete lie and people are so desperate for help, they will believe anything.
Honestly, this is very dangerous advice to give. While I haven't worked in healthcare for a decade, I do work at a substance abuse prevention and treatment research non profit and our members our all the Single State Authorities for all 50 States plus DC who run the public health programs within their State. I think that you are misconstruing SSRIs... for one I have actually been on an SSRI with positive results. They don't reduce serotonin; they allow it so that you brain reduces re-uptake which increases the amount of serotonin. But, I can't tell if you're speaking of substance use disorder patients, patients with a mental illness, or patients with a co-occurring disorder. What you are suggesting is that medication just doesn't work, and that is false. Medication CAN work, but medication should be monitored.
Now, my organization actually released a white paper recently detailing their stance on medicated assisted treatment for patients with substance use disorders; to sum up, many of the States are taking a more lenient and understanding approach to MAT for THOSE WHO ARE OPIOID DEPENDENT. I think in a lot of this post you are lumping mental health and substance use disorder issues into one thing, and you can't necessarily do that even if they do occur together. But I will say that you are absolutely right about counseling and therapy which should always be one of the first option.click to expand

Oh hell yeah, I love K Street .... Farragut Square is only 4 blocks from Dupont, so it probably was you. I used to go to free jazz concerts at the park at K and Conn Aves .. those were the days.

By the way, LOVE that you took up pole dancing! I've been looking for studios that will suit me for awhile, now. I've talked to people and they all said that it really does give a person confidence, etc. Also, my body's been feeling really out of shape... starting from the core muscles which I am now sure are weak as hell, haha! Anyways, wouldn't hurt to have a banging body either, eh? :p
