I live in north west la. Won't say where as I have some fans here who like to follow me around and threaten me by saying they know where I live, personal info etc. You know how it goes.
Its just a younger vibe, more vibrant, more affordable.
Not necessarily bigger homes... but more suburban feel and small town feel as opposed to closer to the dt core. Cleaner, less trash and transient population. More hiking and the illusion of cleaner air with the San Gabriel mountains at your back, views of dt to your front (depending on the city and lots).
Mt. Washington, El Sereno, Montecito Heights, Highland park, these areas were more isolated and didn't have large roads or freeways developed through them and so are more untouched and have views of dt/griffith observatory rivaling the best views in the Hollywood hills.
