These arrived today - DM 1460 Monos (i.e. without the yellow detailing). It's also my first DM purchase in over 20 years (my last pair died around six years ago).
The shiny areas are where I applied a special wax grease, to soften the leather.
After wearing different types of footwear, whilst dancing, I find DMs to be the kindest to my feet.
Tomorrow, I need to buy some thick socks to break them in...
I vowed never to buy another pair again (I outgrew them), but these are the only type of footwear that doesn't give me black toe after an intense dance session.
Barefoot footwear or literally barefoot? Nah, the DM's sturdy leather and laced ankle support are what protects my feet, by keeping them more 'suspended' so less under pressure. Other brands, trainers, barefoot footwear... they all fail to do this.
