Yes, my nephew's gf doesn't like me...she never had much to say to me when we first met and before they got together but the other day I made it quite clear that I thought her and her friend were being rude chain smoking in an inclosed area where the rest of us had to breathe in their fumes which sent them out in the cold to puff. Now she doesn't say anything to me...Meh, don;t really care!

Problem is, he waits until I've had a few to make a move and my guards are low!

He's still checking in via text every other day...don't think he knows quite how to approach me, can be a bit standoffish at times. He wants to go out again his last text said but I didn't reply...it wasn't a question but a suggestion as in, 'we should go out again soon"

At the next chance I will just tell him that I value his friendship more and don't want to ruin it...
How to handle this situation with Cappy?

Well i didn't behave toxically to have him end it, i just left the final decision up to him. At the end of the day, it wasn't working in the long run for either of us, obviously. I just couldn't end it because he did a lot right and when I was weighing up the pros and the cons they were even. Regret is my biggest fear when making a decision...

I wasn't trying to wear him down...he would have never left...it just took that long to make my mind up.

The last one, I put it to him that he wasn't there for me the way he should be, ultimately it was his decision but in the long run the best decision for me...funnily him being a Leeb too it's almost a double edged sword..neither will look back!

It took me 8 years to finally leave my husband because after 8 long suffering years i was finally 100% sure...

Trust me that this is what works best for me. I will suffer for 6 months to a year but at least i don't end up wasting another 8 years until I am fully convinced!

I took this topic to mean something else .... everyone answered as if the question was - How do you feel when your relationship has broken up.

People just interpret things differently, i also read it this way only because I have recently broken up with someone and I guess feel I can have some input into the thread.

I personally find it easier when they walk rather than me. You can just be the type of person that makes them want to leave and that's much smoother for me to deal with. Whereas if I have to end the relationship and I've let loose ends I want to come back and correct later, that can take a while to get over that emotionally. Last time it took months and years!

i get this....maybe it is cowardly but it's what works for me too. I'm hardly ever 100% sure of something and I need to be to make that final decision...it's just easier for me if that decision is taken out of my hands. Doesn't make it any easier to deal with when all said and done but it does stop me from trying to make it work when I know deep down it's better to let it go...
