Mere Exposure Effect. Your mind has internalized the mirror image (which, keep in mind, is reversed right-to-left) as the "correct" way that you look. When you see yourself in a photo, the asymmetries that are present in everyone's face become magnified in your perspective, and you think you look grotesque. Anyone else who sees you in a photograph will think it looks just like how you look all the time.
If you want the truth simply ask someone else how you look.
