I’ve been dating a cancer man for a few weeks now, and I think it’s going well. The first week was incredibly intense. Chemistry off the charts, strong emotional connection, incredible sex, nonstop texting/sexting all day every day. Just for reference, we’ve known each other for a few years but just recently reconnected. Because the first week was so intense, we both agree to slow it down and take it slow and steady. Since that time, we have communicated every day, just at a much lower intensity level. Which is fine, although I’m disappointed that the sexting is much less frequent, but I’m glad we’re communicating. If I text him, he always replies pretty quickly. I guess he uses that prompt to usually start a longer text conversation, which I love. However, he never ever ever texts me first. If I suggest plans for a date, and he’s available, he always agrees. However, he’s never ever ever the first one to make plans to see me. I feel stuck in a tricky position. On the one hand, I want to respect his desire to take things slow, and I don’t want to push. However, I feel like if I’m not the one to move things along, he won’t be the one to do it either. I know he’s interested without a doubt. I also know that cancer men are shy, prone to overthinking, and are incredibly insecure at times. I haven’t seen him in a week, which is the longest we’ve gone without going on a date. He hasn’t indicated anything about the next time we’ll see each other. I’ve read that cancer men often take a passive role in the relationship, but again, I don’t know that I always wanna be the one initiating communication and dates. I don’t like being the pursuer, and it leaves me unsure of whether he’s replying to my texts to be nice and accepting my dates because he has nothing better to do, or if it’s because he’s being shy and unsure of my interest. Today’s the first day since we started dating that I haven’t texted him, and I haven’t heard from him, which isn’t really a surprise. I’m just really disappointed, and I’m not sure what to make of it.

The good thing though is, once you have earned their respect, they act normal towards you and won't have this type of behavior.
Or they get paranoid because you've slightly let on that you know what they're doingclick to expand
