What is your favourite album of all time and why? With me, although I have a large and varied music collection, I think I like heavy rock best and thus my FAOAT is "Headless Cross" by Black Sabbath. I often find listening to dark, angry music to be very therapeutic, and for me this is the best album for that purpose.
What is the real deal with the Virgo male-Scorpio female potential/dynamic? The reason I am asking is because I am currently in touch with a Scorpio female via a dating site and am hoping that we can meet soon. She seems nice but I know Scorpios can get pissed off easily and not give you a second chance so I guess I would like some advice on what to do and what not to do to help things turn out well. Some years ago there was a Scorpio lady that I liked but I think I blew it with her before things had even really started by taking too much for granted and trying to force the pace too hard so I suppose I had better not do that this time. But I guess I shouldn't be too passive either. So how can I get the balance right?
@themagnetoreborn: never really a fan of Whitney Houston but old enough to remember when The Beatles started making it big in '63. @NostalgicCappy: no but Doug Ingle is one guy I would like to meet. Not sure if Iron Butterfly played England.
Is there any particular piece of music that as a Virgo you especially identify with? I am showing my age here (I'm 57) but for me it would be the Iron Butterfly Theme by the 1960s acid-rock band Iron Butterfly. Although we Virgos are often seen as dull and conventional in fact one of the main figures of 1960s psychedelia was Virgo Dougle Ingle, founder member of Iron Butterfly who wrote the Iron Butterfly Theme and In-a-Gadda-da-Vida. This is a very intense piece of music that I find myself listening to very often on my mp3 player and for me it expresses the strong and sometimes dark and chaotic emotions that churn and burn beneath the Virgo reserve.
Clothes seem to be important for me: it's OK if somebody has a few extra pounds for example but they shouldn't kid themselves that they are slimmer than they are and force themselves into clothes that are too small for them. Also larger people should wear dark colours. Recently I had a date with somebody who was on the overweight side and who broke both these rules. Also I think she was wearing synthetic fibres which is another turn-off for me.
Hi: I am a Virgo with Sag. rising. I think I can be very outgoing if I feel that the person I am with is warm/friendly/encouraging, but can crawl right into my shell if not! Worst is if I over-confide to somebody who turns out not to be receptive/sympathetic or is even embarrassed by my frankness - that is painfully embarrassing for me. Because I do want to make friends I try to avoid "salesmen" and "saleswomen" types as I have been taken in too easily in the past by their insincere friendliness. With regard to the Sag. thing, my ex is a Sag. and my son is a Sag. also with Moon in Sag. (they are both French and live in France: I am English and live in England - we see each other maybe 6-8 weeks per year. It's never been an easy relationship though: believe it or not my key complaint about her is what a wet blanket she is even though she is a Sag.)
As I have said, our son is also a Sag. and the negative Sag. characteristics that he has I would say are impatience and absent-mindedness (like he often forgets to take something important to school with him in the morning and his mother has to go back home and bring it in: and/or he leaves something at school that he should bring home with him).
Well I have known my Sag. ex for many years and still keep in touch with her for the sake of our 13-year-old son (also a Sag.)
I would say that her worst characteristics are taking the people that she knows (including me) for granted (although she can be very pleasant to mere acquaintances and strangers), and (connected with this) a tendency to "ride roughshod" (surely a very Sag. expression!) over other people's needs and feelings.
The worst example of this was when she got pregnant with our son: she phoned me up one evening and told me she was pregnant and that she had already decided to go ahead and have the baby. Although I was basically against this (because of our difficult relationship, the geographical distance between us and the difficult financial situation) I would have been open to persuasion if she had tried to mollify or reassure me in any way, and if she had I think it might have spared me from years of heartache. However, as usual with her it was just a case of "too bad if you don't like it, cause it's gonna happen!"
According to what I have read the commonest Sun and Moon placements for killers are Sun in Sagittarius, Moon in Sagittarius, Sun in Capricorn and Moon in Capricorn (not necessarily in that order). Maybe Taurus though as well in terms of responsibility for deaths (Hitler/Saddam Hussein).
My 13-year-old son (that I do not live with) has both Sun and Moon in Sagittarius so I guess that I had better track his progress carefully!
My impression is that Cancer and Virgo may be the commonest victims.
Mars in Taurus! Especially as my Mars has bad aspects and is in the 6th house which I think is not good. I wish I was/had been more of a risk-taker but I think having Mars in Taurus makes it hard to act unless feeling pretty sure of success. I once knew a guy who was also a Virgo born the same year as me who also had this Mars in Taurus and he was more of a risk-taker but his Sun was trine Mars and mine is not. I think the whole combination of Mars and Taurus is very stressful and contradictory in nature. In my case also this Mars represents my late father (whose Sun was conjunct my Mars) and I feel I let him have too much control over my life.
I think it is a truism that on the whole people from the same element (in this case Water) instinctively understand each other, share similar or identical values and so on the whole get on. In the case of Cancer and Scorpio I think they are in fact both pretty private people, and I guess the relationship tends to be founded on the Scorpio making the (insecure) Cancer feel more secure and in turn being appreciated/rewarded for that. Scorpio likes to dominate and Cancer likes to be dominated usually.
I know three people (all women) all born in the same year who have their Jupiter in Virgo trine my Mars in Taurus and I get on pretty well with them: I like them and would like to have closer relationships with them but unfortunately they are all married/in solid relationships. However one of them I feel closer to than I did to my own mother (with whom I did not get on too well especially as a child): as a matter of fact I am currently in the process of buying her house as she is now moving to a new house with her fianc?. Because of increasing property values here the house is already worth significantly more than I am paying for it so it is a particularly good deal for me.
OK well I am obviously a Virgo male and have been involved with a Sag. female for 29 years (yes). I should write a book about it but it is complicated by the fact that she is French and lives back in France now and I am English and live here in England (we met many years ago when she was an au pair over here). The point is though that we have a son (also Sag.) now aged 13 who lives with her over there so we keep in touch and sometimes see each other but it is never easy. They came over here a few weeks ago for a few days and as often happens she and I had a huge row on the way back to the airport and after that they wouldn't speak to me for two weeks. The main problem as far as I am concerned is that she is actually quite arrogant and unco-operative and takes people and things (including me) for granted and that enrages me. Despite all this I know another Sag. female who lives near me (unfortunately very much married) that I seem to get on fantastically well with. So maybe it is more about my ex being French rather than her than being a Sag.!
