American Sign Language? or ... or Basic Hebrew? |

Basic Hebrew, obviously. Just think of the many, many things you could do with it. Nah, I've got nothing. If you're serious about this, learning sign-language would probably be more beneficial for a therapist(not sure whether you are one or not, but I do recall you have a degree in psychology), as there are bound to be mute people with psychological issues out there, and knowing sign-language would give you an edge on the other therapists. |

Good points ^. I'm so torn. Only a week or so left to register. On the one hand, I'm in a random mood. I wanna do something fresh and funky- and Basic Hebrew fit the bill as I perused the course guide. But, I'll have no one to speak it with besides classmates and my old roommate. But yea, sign language is more practical for obvious reasons. |

my co-worker tried to tell me that hebrew is a dead language. argued me down. pffft! i like that it sounds kinda rough and throaty. only ever learned a few words and phrases (which i've forgotten), since i was restricted to a kosher cafeteria for several months...and the mashgiach spoke zero english.

| Hadag Nachash is pretty much the best reason I can think of to learn Hebrew, short of moving to Israel. |

I like that song. Would help to know what they were saying. Cuz the lyrics could definitely be along the lines of, "c!!kiemonsteres ain't b*tter, but hoes and tricks", and in my ignorance, I would enthusiastically sing along. lol Yea, I told him that it was alive and well! I was specifically thinking of the overwhelming Jewish population in NYC. Particularly among the Orthodox communities...they tend to speak both Yiddish and Hebrew. |

lol no, but seriously, i got the vibe that they were a sort of conscious hip-hop inspired group. i want to say their name rings a bell, but i'm honestly not sure. |

Simple, yet very effective summary of the political clustertreetrunk in Israel. They're actually a feminist rap group(!), and have a very 'heavy' song concerning violence against women and sexual harassment. It's silly, but I'm actually sorta proud that they're one of the two most popular rap groups in Israel. |

""It's silly, but I'm actually sorta proud that they're one of the two most popular rap groups in Israel."" It's not silly at all. They look and sound cool! And those who appreciate music are hard pressed to find any (especially hip-hop) of substance nowadays. |

IP | What about Basic Hebrew sign language? There should be a wide open market ripe for the picking if you act now. |
