Make up trends that men hate:

1. Blue Eyeshadow. Done in moderation this trend could border on acceptable, but truth be told, there is very little appeal in having the lids of your eyes emulate baby smurfs. –I'd suggest Googling 'The Drew Carey Show' for reference.

2. Too Bright Lip Color. Men usually hate lip color that are too dark, too bright or in an unusual colour. Vampy burgundies, purples, bright oranges and hot pinks just to mention a few.

3. Too-tanned Skin. Unless you’re a cast member on The Jersey Shore, it’s likely in your best interest to keep the fake-baking to a minimum. Nobody likes a human orange, think before you bed.

4. Unconventional Nail Colours. Nail colours that men just don’t “understand”: the dark, Gothic shades (black, burgundy, navy), the grieges, the taupes and the brights (oranges, yellows, greens).

... Now imagine wearing all of those at once... I'm telling you that would make Waldo a lot easier to find.

Make up is not all that bad. It does make a HUGE difference in some people when used correctly

In the dead of night, it's the anti-sig.

It should accent what you have naturally, not overpower it. Good rule of thumb is..if you're afraid someone would see you without it, you're not doing it right.

Maybe because if you saw what they looked like those females wouldn't be as reproductively successful or get as much attention from males. After all the whole point of wearing make up for females is to outcompete other females in getting a particular male or the attention of males in general.

wearing strange makeup is so much fun

it's funny how for example the nailpolish-colours expanded...like two years ago no one could imagine wearing yellow nails or black lipstick or sth... and then fashion-trends change and it becomes wearable..

I love the lipsticks from this site btw

http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/categories/Lips/

but yes...most men hate it... that makes makeup even better

I agree with the bulk of these points myself, except I don't think men take too much note of fingernails, thus color ranges can be flexible. Personally not big on black, yellow or green nails yet I admit I'll rock the burgundy polish once in a while.

Despite I'm not male, I feel as if these trends are also loathsome and should fade into obscurity:

1. Bleach blondes/dark roots.
Guess who your dye-job is fooling? NO ONE! If you consider color touch-ups too much of a hassle or too expensive for your liking, don't choose artificial blonde, as it is high-maintenance and requires attention as to avoid the trailer-trash effect typical of three-inch black roots contrasting the bleached portion beneath them.

2. False eyelashes.
Unless you're going for a Miss Piggy/drag queen style get-up or it's Halloween, it's usually better not to glue your lashes on. Fake sets of eyelashes usually peel off at the edges, which is even more of a dead giveaway that they were purchased from a drugstore.

3. Shimmery light-pink lipstick.
Doesn't flatter any skin tone, cheap-looking to the max. To get the worst possible result, wear a pale iridescent pink lip color with a DARK lip-liner.

4. Hair extensions.
Extensions cause the entire hair to appear tacky and adulterated no matter how much was spent on installing them, nor the quality of the extensions. It's a losing battle--why not wait until your real hair grows out?

5. Acrylic/gel/press-on fingernails.
'Sup, Edward Scissorhands? The especially long variety of fake nails are outlandish--I have trouble understanding why people are willing to go to a manicurist and pay $50+ to make it look as if they grew talons like a hawk's.

6. Pencil-thin or nonexistent eyebrows.
Plucking or waxing off the stray hairs and shaping up the brows is a perfectly understandable routine. However, butchering or eliminating them altogether causes one to look older than they are, if not completely deranged as well.

7. Wearing a shade of foundation that clashes with natural skin tone.
This is often done on purpose. Fair-skinned women dissatisfied with their complexion should not opt for a color of foundation intended to match that of somebody four shades darker, seeing as it never fails to look orange and is obviously mismatched to the lighter skin on the neck and chest.
On the other side of the coin, the darker-complected population should avoid using drastically lighter foundation at any cost, unless the goal is to look like a mime or a Geisha.

8.Too much glitter.
By now I've heard enough men claim to despise glittery disco ball-inspired cosmetics. Personally, I am against wearing any glitter--because at the age of 23, the last time I could acceptably pull it off was
