This Taurus is too persistent---WHY?!?!

The is the first time I've come into this forum. I'm usually on the Cap forum.

Anyway, one of my closest friends is a Taurus (May 15) and we've known eachother for three years. It wasn't until we ended up in the same class that he expressed his feelings for me (back in the September). My problem is, is that I became involved with a Cap before he opened up to me. Even if I hadn't met the other guy, I would have never taken things further because I only see him as a friend and nothing more.

I told him I was seeing someone and as time passed, he became very clingy. He told me that he hopes my situation with the Cap turns out to where he benefits. This has been going on for 8 months. He called me today and I don't understand completely as to why he won't give up. He did tell me that every other girl doesn't compare to me but I suggested he keep looking.I'm trying to cut him out as quickly as possible because he has pushed it so much, I can't tolerate him anymore.

I ignore him on a daily basis. I don't pick-up his calls. I even told him I would prefer to spend time with the other guy (even though it's been rocky, I needed an excuse to make him realize nothing will progress). He walked me home one day afterschool and told him I was still involved so he would back off (I got mean). He tried to come up with ways where I can see him as a potential partner. I told him there's nothing he can do to change my mind and he should not change himself just to accomodate me. He told me he doesn't want me to write him off but he has become so annoying!! (He's one of those nice guys, btw).

Now that you bring it up, there is a strong chance he is. When I gave him more details about the other guy, he got upset and verbalized his dislike for the Cap.

I feel like our friendship has disintegrated because of this. Problem is, we are going to be attending the same college!! Arghhh!!!

If I continue to be his friend, he would make things much more stressful and awkward. I forgot to add that he didn't say he liked me...he said those other three words :/...more than once. I thought it was just a crush because last year, he gave me a rose for Valentines Day. I thought, "No big deal. He'll get over it."

And I agree with the whole 'misunderstanding an Aqua' thing. I feel like he misunderstood my friendliness for flirtatiouness. And I said something to make him believe there was some hope (I said that without even thinking). I was trying to be as nice as possible and thought I could cut him off after this and he'll get the message. I quickly took it back when I noticed it wasn't working but there's no going back after that. Why God WHY!!!

I decided to write up the topic when I started becoming frustrated. I ignored him all day at school yesterday. It was OBVIOUS. I wouldn't even make eye-contact when I passed by. After school, he decided to call, twice.

I remember threatening to never speak to him again, as a joke, a while back and he said it would be the worst punishment ever. I don't want to be mean, but that is my only option at this point. I'm caring less and less for him. Yesterday was when I almost came close to my breaking point.

And I love Tauruses. They are my second favorite sign behind Capricorn. But the one I'm dealing with is turning into a psycho in my eyes.

I think everyone goes a little psycho when they like someone. i've dealt with my share of wack job guys. Honestly if you don't want him and obviously hes not gonna give up, i'd recommend being straight forward and telling him its never gonna happen. and make the word NEVER stand out a lot more than you'd normally say it. otherwise he's still gonna be in the picture and annoy you. sometimes people dont know how to take a hint, so best to make sure they hear it as clearly as possible.

I think you need to be real raw about this to him. You seem to value his friendship on some level, but he hasn't got the hint yet. You have to tell him you're not in love with him, that even if you weren't with another, you wouldn't love him.

And don't worry about going to the same college. You'll see, lives tend to take different paths all the time, esp. at school...you will run into each other, but don't make this more awkward than it has to be. Tell him. It is then up to him what he wants to do with that information. He has a right to feel how he does, and to me, it sounds as if you haven't been quite clear so open up and tell him...if he still acts out, then you can be "mean" and call him a "psycho." (which for the record, I think is a little over the top...he's just into you..)
