Why Libras Go Silent When Hurt
Libras often go silent when hurt because they’re trying to avoid saying something they may regret and want time to process what happened. In real situations, that can look like shorter replies, delayed texts, or pulling back instead of arguing. It usually means they’re upset and sorting out their feelings before they re-engage.
we ususally think about the situation. tryin to reach some conclusion
i usually do this to distance myself so i can take an objective view of things.
I'm very guilty of giving people the "silent treatment" when I'm upset with them or just don't think they're being fair with me. I want them to see that I'm hurt by what they said/did. While I'm ignoring them, I think about the problem over and over and over. What if this, what if that...well maybe they meant this...
I never really come to a decision...or if I do, I'm never sure if its what's best for me.

i dont get quiet when im upset, its too much to walk along life with, intially, i get quiet but when im asked i be honest and tell why and what pissed me off and go along my way and leave you to think about it cuz i need space when i am emotinally stirred. If i dont care for you, there is no point of letting you know why you angered me, i will just simply cut you down and lose and go my way never to look back but if im in love i think i should let you know what the issue is so i can see for myself if you meant to do it, if you will try and change it or how you will react. Its complex and im not in the mood to go into detaail b/c emotions are situational and its hard to be objective when describing how you feel at a certain situation when you are not currently in it
My silent treatment means you're not worth wasting my breath on. Im actually doing this to my, hmmm, dont want to say bf, but the son of a bitch aquarius father of my 2 kids!!!!!! You see, he was left alone too long, with all my trust, and lets just say he's not too clever about keeping his flirtations under wraps. Soooo, he's getting the silent treatment, the cold shoulder, and a badddd attitude. For me, when im like this, things are unofficially over. I dont want to talk, my feelings dont exist, i actually hate you, and the more you try and bring me round, the worse i get. So, leave the libra alone..you deserve to be ignoored if you're getting some of that. Even when we reinitiate contact, be sure its just a test, the hate is still bubbling under the surface and the smile 🙂
You know, now that I think about it. I've never been this kind of Libra. I'm very hot headed and my temper is beyond explosive. However rarely am I pushed to that point. For the most part if something bothers me I put on a smile and act like nothing has happened. So if its not major enough for me to explode over then most likely I'll never give someone the silent treatment.
However, there have been times where I jsut completly cut people off. No calls, no gestures, nothing. But I wouldnt call that the silent treatment cause that would imply I'm still in thier presence which I usually am not.

I have a question though, If a libra guy turns cold or ask for some space does mean that he's flirting around? Coz I'm in a relationship with this libra guy, for more than a year now, I'm having some issues at work right now and he's having his own issues too??_ Now he's confussing me there is a sudden change with his attitude until he ask for space cause we often end up arguing this past few weeks.. So I'm wondering if he is cheating on me or he just want to fix everything? I need some adv pls
Freiz11 - if he's going cold, he may be doing what I'd do ... his interest has wandered elsewhere and that's his focus now. If you're arguing, chances are he'll make a move. Librans hate confrontation of any kind. Then again, it may be that he can only focus on what is happening with him at work and he needs you to be supportive till he comes out the other end. Sorry, alternatives can be a bit harsh sometimes. Good luck!

I really appreciate it.. we havent talk for a week now I can sense that he's busy with someone he just met or maybe he gets back with the girl that flirts him when we had an arguement on september of this year.. thats reason why i got worried about the sudden changes of his attitude.. guess I'll have to wait then if he comes back or not...

I'm a Libra woman. I am a super organized planner type who needs balance. But when faced with problems, if the resolution is not completely in my control (i.e. I need the other person's input to conclude our conflict) I want to run away. I just want to tell the person to f*ck off and remove myself from the situation immediately.
On the flip side, and here's where that balance comes in (which I hate because it;s always so contradictory to how I initially felt), after I calm down I was to resolve the situation promptly. and i become agitated that the other person has yet to contact me.
My advice: give them space to chill and reflect... but contact them first, and be super sweet.. if you're super sweet they wont be as pissed. they might make you work for it, but inside.. they're not that pissed anymore.

I'm a Libra woman and silence usually means something is out of balance. Most of the time, when I go silent, it's because I feel like I'm not getting what I'm giving. Fairness and balance is so important to us and we usually treat ppl the way we would like to be treated. If we feel we are getting the short end of the stick, we may disappear for a while to see if you can fix it. We get hurt feelings easily, even though we don't like to show it. Also, if we start to disappear more and more.. not taking your calls, etc. we are thinking of making a break in the relationship. We can't stand to feel taken advantage of. Depending on what happened, a silent Libra is a hurt or pi $ $ ed off Libra... either way, it's all bad because if you hurt us too much or too many times, we will just want to be away from the person causing the pain
Yes silent treatments are typical with us libras especially when we are mad. To me, it's a way yo clear my head and to remove myself from the argument.
My Libra guy has said similar things Libra1234. When quiet it is not that he isn't thinking of me or avoiding me. He is just processing information or trying to decide what to do.
When I get distant its usually because i'm going through something that is making me miserable and i hate making others miserable so i'll just avoid become introspective figure out wtf is my problem and then i'll be back..

i dont think we realize how it hurts others.. we just assume they wont take it personal.. maybe he needs to at least warn you.. my friends whom know me well always know when i'm going into "loner mode" and they just poke in occasionally to let me know they are here for me while i figure out whatever it is i'm trying to figure out.

I want to say thank you to the Libra's that have posted on this topic. While I realize it is an old thread, there seems to be some recent activity on here and I wanted to add to it. My post are far and few in between as I sit back and watch.
However, I wanted to share here. I am a Scorpio female who fell in love with an Libra males personality over the internet. I never told him how I felt about him and we have been friends for almost 4 years. The silence in the game we played drove me crazy cause I missed him in his "quiet moments." Yet, he would always come around within a day or two with a day of great conversation. Fast forward, this past year, this man has swept me off my feet, coming from another country to come hang out in mine. He professed his love in a manner no one ever has before. Again, totally swept me off my feet. Having been through two crappy marriages, I was a little fearful of revealing my feelings to him for fear of running him off. He has since gone back and forth from his country to mine on several occasions. While away from me, he has days going by that I don't hear from him. Then he appears with again the greatest conversation. I take the professed love and the things he has told me at face value, thinking to myself, am I being naive in thinking someone would love me in this manner. The quiet moments drive me insane. However, I let him have his space. I don't call him, or harass him. Every once in a while I will send a short sentence of encouragement, or something funny. The last month has been very difficult as he is readying his business to come to the U.S. He told me a few months ago, he wanted me to move in with him once he gets here and gets settled. Again, I sit back and wait, and watch, doing what I can to keep my mind from obsessing...lol
I think the baggage from the past colored me so I could not become excited about this man's proposals. After three days of not talking to him he leaves me the most romantic message I think I have ever received. Then he calls me that evening.
In 5-9 weeks I will be moving across the United States to be with him. NOW I can get excited!!!!
The reason I wanted to post under this post is to let others know that are relationships with male Libras based on my own 4 year experience, first as friends. RESPECT.

I feel that Libra's sometimes wear the weight of the world. And they need to withdraw to balance things on their scales a 1000 times before they come forward and present it to those closest to them. Once they think they have it figured out, they are all in again. I'm sure I'll be posting other post as I run across those I can relate to, but I felt the frustration of the original poster here and hope that in sharing my experience will encourage others who are in a relationship with the wondrous Libra male to relax. Respect their need to man-cave/woman-cave. They will come out and if u stuck by them and did not waiver in your behavior, they will be 100% back and act like they did not miss a beat. The thing to ask oneself in this relationship, is, "can u keep your wits about you while they are in this mode." Find something for yourself to do. (said to myself as much as anyone else...lol)
