37 years old female from A place called Happy, the journey was all about getting to know me

| I notice quite a few men and women here seem to want to be in a realtionship like yesterday. I am not judging you or anything but there are worse things than being single. I know what you are thinking..that's easy to say when you are in a relationship and I agree. However, I do sometimes miss being single. So for all you single men and women here is a list of the perks of SINGLENESS; When you put something in the fridge, it is there when you return. You always get to watch what you want to watch on television..no fighting over the remote or watching something you could not care less about You get to hang out with your friends any time you want, as late as you want. You do not have to account for your money, or lack thereof. You can leave the door open when you use the bathroom. You get the entire bed when you sleep (and all the cover too) If you want pizza for dinner, you eat pizza for dinner. Don't get me wrong being with someone has it benefits as well. I just want more of you to enjoy your singleness. There will be moments when you will want it back. Trust me. Feel free to add your own single perks !! Lets see how many we can come up with. Perhaps when you are feeling down, you can come here and read this list. |
Posted by Nala13 You just named 8 reasons why I wont get into one anytime soon |

| Come on Pothead..you have to add a perk of being single. Like I can get as high as I want and no one says anything to me. LOL |
| You can do those on the list when coupled up though if you're with the right person, if you're a woman lol. |

| Funny ERE. |
| The second horseshoe shaped one I only lift to clean usually but that's a funny visual. |
| Yeah I think those (and most other things) should be able to be the same when with someone too, only I'm a homebody more than a party animal anyway and as for the bed thing .. I just like sleeping on my own sometimes so a guest room bed would have to come in handy for when I get that urge. I need to rest myself purely in my own vibes once in a while if you know what I mean. |
There's none of that, 'you just sit at the computer eating corn dogs all day, you're a rubbish girlfriend'. Haha, that's funny. |
Posted by everevolvingepithet +1…..and…..very funny @ the last bit ![]() Single freedom has it's satisfactions, except the satisfaction of living for and with someone that wants the same things you do, and who will support you in your endeavors. Though not every relationship will yield that sort of benefit, but it's never a waste of time to try…. So here's my list of double-edged swords, a.k.a. single perks: I do what I want, whenever I want… If I don't feel like cooking a meal, I eat a bowl of cold cereal for dinner… If I don't get home went I intended to, nobody's upset… I can feel perfectly justified in painting the living room any color I wish… I can arrange the furniture any way I see fit… I don't have to consider anyone else's wishes when making a choice, any choice… Sleeping as late as I want, on my day off... ….somebody here said they wanted to be told "no", pretty sure it was Elle There's something solid and secure about that, from this woman's perspective anyway. |
| I don't really get how most of those things are taken away when in a relationship, at least a good one. Maybe if you live with someone, yeah, but otherwise most of that really doesn't apply. The only good thing I can think of about being single is not having to worry about what someone else feels/thinks about well, anything. And tbh, that makes you a pretty butterty friend too. |
| I feel really sorry for people who think they NEED to be in a relationship. Screams serious insecurity and neediness of others to be "happy." How sad. Relationships aren't bad, but how pathetic are you to constantly NEED to be in one? My brother is in a relationship with one of those (the relationship is a rebound), and I'm worried something ridiculous is going to happen to him as an end result. I really don't trust girls who relationship hop/are needy for relationships. Being single = less drama. Even if you're dating, you can weed people out when stupid drama arises. Once in a relationship, there's always potential for it to arise, but when it does, you're kinda stuck with it sort of. You really can't just drop the person as easily as if you were just dating someone for a few, I guess. The emotions haven't quite been fully invested yet. |
| People are drama. Deal. |
Posted by Nala13 LOL, hell datz a given....in or out of a relationship... |
Posted by venusianbull Glad you missed the point. |
| imo being single is cool until you hit your mid-late 30's..FOR A WOMAN, that is. if a woman is that old and still don't have a man, more then likely she's just not fit to be in a relationship..at least not long term..and if she has kids, thats even worse..cuz now you're unfit WITH baggage..just look at halle berry..she can't keep a man for butter..and she looks damn good now for us dudes, it depends..because if you're successful financially, then its no problem being single..you can pick and choose almost any woman as you please..but if you're broke, then you just look pathetic..hangin out at clubs/bars in your mid late 30's, pickin up drunken just like mes and taking them to your studio/1 bedroom shack or even worse, your mothers house, is indeed a sad sight to see. |
