Feel free to to post your top ten, if you'd like. Since I watched most of those movies as an untrustworthy moronic teenager, I added the Rotten Tomatoe rating(first number is the general rating, the second is by top critics).
Evil Dead 2(98, 83) An awesome display of badassitude and humor. A must-watch for internet people(well, internet men, anyway).
El Partido Abrazo(85, 88) I'm...not sure why I like this one. I'm not the only one who felt like that, apparently: "It's a film of unexpected, almost indescribable off-center charm that deepens as it goes on." That's pretty much it. It's an exceptionally low-key movie, made by a director I can only assume is the anti-Bay. I loved it, but I'm not sure it'd resonate with gentiles.
Sweet Sixteen(98, 100) A grim tale of a 15 yo teenager's involvement in the British underworld. A great, highly rated English language film that no-one apparently watched. I've been on the internet for quite a while now, but I don't think I've ever even seen it mentioned. It's bizarre.
La Meglio Gioventù(95, 92) A six hour long movie that documents the lives of two Italian brothers from 1963 to 2000. Thoroughly engrossing.
Grave of the Fireflies(90, n/a) A brother and a sister trying to get by in the aftermath of the Hiroshima(or was it Nagasaki?) bombing. As movies go, it's pretty sad. I've seen the anime, but there's also a live-action version you can track down if you're an old fart who doesn't like cartoons.
Nope. What is your caste, sb?(I'm guessing Brahmin)
"10 different movies that really entertained me.
1. Addio Fratello crudele (Tis A Pity Shes A just like me) 2. El espíritu de la colmena (The Spirit Of the Beehive) 3. Tras el cristal (In A Glass Cage) 4. Nightmare In A Damaged Brain 5. Senso '45 (Black Angel) 10. Trouble Every Day"
I tried to look for those in warez-bb.org(which basically had every other movie I looked for, and I looked for some obscure butter), and I could only find #2. Are you possibly getting your movies from an H.P. Lovecraft character?
"DAMN I FORGOT ANDREY ZVYAGINTSEV! Yum download his "The Return" & "The Banishment" they are great"
Alright, I've marked The Return for download, but wikipedia makes The Banishment looks like a soap-opera. What exactly did you like about it?
1. Glitter 2. Slumber Party Massacre 3. Slumber Party Massacre 2 4. Slumber Party Massacre 3 5. Black Christmas 6. Black Christmas Remake 7. Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood 8. Scream 3 (My favorite out of the series LOL) 9. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (Mathew McCoughnehey is in it <3) 10. Jawbreaker
Tokens to you machiavelli bull, I literally had my nose scrunched in reading through the other's film choices like 'jigga wat?'. Naked is a brilliant film, another good one from Mike Leigh is Bleak Moments.
I'm going to think about my top five, and write back in a bit. It requires thinking time.
Man, I always have a hard time answering this question. The answer is always a dynamic one that changes based on mood and theme.
Favorite Hero movies off the top of my head:
1. The Dark Knight Harvey Dent: You either die the hero or live long enough to become the villain
2. The Last Samurai Katsumoto: You have your honor back. Let me die with mine...
3. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Li Mu Bai: I've already wasted my whole life. I want to tell you with my last breath that I have always loved you. I would rather be a ghost, drifting by your side as a condemned soul, than enter heaven without you.
Holy Grail is classic especially when the French soldier cried out (I fart in your direction), I am sure JT will love it. And about the grammar who really care? And ohhhh come on Kate Bush was my crush back in 70’s… she is silly in every videos but she is my kind of silly, I still love her… her “Wuthering Heights” is unforgettable…!
