what does this scorpio man want from me?

I was dating a Scorpio who told me last week that he doesn't:
1. want to hurt my feelings
2. know what he wants
3. know why I like him (?)

also told me he thought i wanted commitment and kept giving me a hypothetically situation in which if i fell head over heels for someone one day at a coffee shop, if i would be in a situation where i was stuck with this Scorpio and couldn't be with "the love of my life" and visa versa i guess.

As a virgo, I don't believe in love at first sight, I believe I can grow to love someone but I don't trust love at first sight at all. So we broke up under the circumstances that I wasn't going to be talking to other people if I was officially in a relationship with him and he can't do that right now.

I guess my ego was hurt because this Scorpio was on my tail for the past 2 months texting me constantly and telling me how perfect and amazing when I really am not one to rush into talking to someone everyday like that if theyre not my boyfriend. But then I started giving in to all the attention and starting falling for him. Although one night he said that he didn't feel like I liked him and that I found him annoying so in my attempt to reassure him I talked about past relationships and where I'm coming from. I felt like this may have turned him off. I understand that maybe I had talked too much about my past, but he did too and told me he was in a 3yr relationship where the girl dumped him because she thought he wasn't mature enough and I got and understood that that really hurt him.

Anyway! my real confusion stems from the fact that we stopped talking for about a week until he texted me one day that he was in front of my apt and wanted to stop by. I wasn't home at the time, and i was too hurt from last weeks conversation that I told him he shouldn't wait for me even though secretly I really wanted to see him. He then told me he would wait until I got home and I should text him once I did (he lives close by). I met up with him about an hr later and we both pretended last week didn't happen and talked about mundane things. But during the conversation he would say that I should date certain people that came up during conversation among other things that made me feel like he was testing me to see how I would respond.

I guess I'm just confused as to why he still is trying to talk to me. I read that Scorpio's are easy to cut off people, but does this Scorpio still want me? And should I be giving him the time of day

also he told me early on that he doesn't want to have sex with me until "we were more"

which I had no intention of doing, but ever since he said that I can't help but want it more!

Scorpios drive me crazy....

I DON'T KNOW EITHER!

he talked about us being together for a while but then just shut down at some point.

But now, he's starting the cycle again where he's talking to me.

I also failed to mention that after he said "he doesn't know what he wants" I asked him if it would be better if we didn't talk/see each other anymore and he said "where did you get that from?! Do YOU want to stop talking?!"

Well then I guess my other concern is should I give it a chance or just forget about him?
