How do you approach a guy?

I really like this guy at work - well I like what he looks like anyway! Thing is, he's not going to be here for much longer, probably a few weeks. We've got some eye contact going on and smiling and stuff and he says hello if he's close enough to me. I don't even know if he likes me! Now, I'm rubbish at approaching guys I like, I totally clam up and blush until my head is about to explode. So should I wait for him to approach me? Or should I just get in there and talk to him (but what about? Aaaarrrgghhhh!)?

Approach him. He might be just as nervous as you are. Be honest, and direct.

I've never in my life approached a guy though, I think this is what is freaking me out. But I don't want him to leave and never know if there could have been something between us. Trouble is, he's always with other people when I see him as well, so I'd be even more nervous talking to him. Am gonna muse on what I'm gonna say, get the opportunity to speak to him and say loads of stuff that comes falling out of my mouth. And then see what happens.

I've found out he's a cancer. There's no way I can approach him now, he'll be scared to death if I do!
