qq about elemets

so aries and libra are opposites which means air oppostite element is fire vice-versa. but what happens with a fire air partnership? say for example aries and gemini? would the problems that occur with aries and libra still have some validuty in an aries gem combo? i.e. aries fiery & impulsive personality would annoy the cool calm itteligent approach of the gemini? ould the attraction of fire and air still have its pros and cons as an aries libra partnership. the same goes for every other opposing comnbination in the zodiac. aerth and water, scorpio and capricorn.

would an air sign still gain the same benefits it would get from it's direct opposite but just with a different slant?

the issue with opposite signs is due to the fact that they share the same quality and how that manifests. for aries-libra it's act-react. for taurus-scorpio it's stubborn-obsess (won't give in-won't let go).

opposite signs represent a distinct polarity...yin-yang..."good"-"evil" dynamic. for these two to get along would be akin to the devil dining with God. in theory they should be civil but someone is bound to be smote.

differing signs, different qualities, there's a little more harmony. there's an easier flow of energy between the two. a stubborn/pushy bull would fair better with a fishy who is mutable. not that fishies are pushovers, but they're not as "fixed" as their water cousin scorpio which allows for more harmony. the bull will still need to temper its stubborn nature but not nearly as much with a fellow quality (fixed).

same goes for aries and gemini. in an aries relationship with a libra, the pushy aries will cause the libra to react by doing a direct dodge...kinda like when you try to put two magnets together and the one pushing chases the other away. i think with gem there's still an opposition (aries will grow tired of gem thinking instead of acting) but gem is also an active sign, so the gem will "act" more readily than a libra when pushed which allows for greater harmony.

Planet opposites & element opposites are two entirely different things. Libra is Aries planet opposite but their element is not. The opposite of fire is water.

Each sign within an element is ruled differently. Aries (Mars), Leo (Sun), Sag (Jupiter). The ruler influences the sign with it's own specific characteristics. A Gemini cannot be compared to a Libra because it's ruler is Mercury thereby taking on the traits of Mercury rather than Venus.
