This older lady whom I've worked with for five years is a Cappy. Recently we've become somewhat "chummy," and I've confided a few things in her. A few weeks ago she needed a hairdresser and I referred her to mine.

At my haircut appt. today my hairdresser (who has been cutting my hair for as long as I've lived here) told me that this woman has been talking about me galore behind my back!! To the point that she has called the hairdresser, gotten the answering machine, and said "Sandy, pick up the phone!" and when Sandy did she said, "Let me tell you what X (me) did!" Mind you, the hairdresser has only seen this women a couple of times.

Of course, what she is saying about me is 99.9% exaggeration, distortion, fantasy, and lies!! She ALSO talks about other people (like her neighbor, who is also a new client) to the hairdresser in the same way.

This woman is my coworker I shudder to think what she is saying about me at work...

I'm a Cappy female, and I haven't engaged in this kind of behavior since my younger years, like early 20s. This woman is in her late 50s or early 60s.... Is this a Cappy trait or just a psycho trait?

Thanks.

Hi Sweet-P, Hows it feel being an auntie?? Was it a girl or boy? And that's right not all picies are bad, just look at sweet-p she's quite alright.

Wondering I don't envy your situation at all. It can be a quite difficult one to deal with. Is this person in a suporvisors position above you at work? If she is please be careful how you choose to deal with things, or it could come back to haunt you later, or even cost you your job. Since you both have worked at the same place for five years most likely others know about what she is like in this regard. It would depend on what kinds of things were being said as to what could or should be done. maybe you could let us know In a little more detail just what has been said. Then possibly we could help more. TW2

Hi Twinflame,

Fortunately she is just a coworker and not my superior. In addition, I work as a telecommuters, so fortunately I only have to see her twice a year at work meetings/parties.

She works in the office, and this woman has such a big mouth I'm sure she's flapping nonstop about me both at work and on the phone...

What she said? Lessee... She told the hairdresser that both me and her neighbor were "bipolar," which is not true (and she's no licensed psychiatrist, either). Like many Americans I do suffer from ADD (attention deficit disorder), which is a focusing/attention span problem and NOT a mental illness (thought it is listed in DSM-IV).

I also suffer from LGS (leaky gut syndrome), which is increased intestinal permeability, which causes allergic reactions to many foods. She is going around saying that I have an "eating disorder!" LOL

About her neighbor (whom she also claims is bipolar), she says that when she comes home from work she can see her neighbor outside "watching her through the trees" like she's spying on her or something. Definite PARANOIA there...

She also talked a great deal about my appearance. My hairdresser said that I was "beautiful," and this woman made a big deal about arguing with her about it!! The beautician thinks this woman is jealous of me....

Based on what I've read this is NOT a Cappy trait; this woman has some problems and needs to get a life.

Thanks, y'all!

LOL Wondering. Also, you have to watch out for those older people over 60. They tend to be the rudest and most backstabbing of all and they do this because they know they can get away with it. The younger person always looks like the bad guy whenever they are trading insults with a blue hair even if the blue hair started it. My Grandma does this all the time too our whole family, I think we have done a good job of restraining ourselves, lol.
