hmmm well, I'm in a comunity college. And everything just looks and seems so... overwhelming. I got my GED after droping out of high school. A few times. Personal problems, issues at home getting in the way.
But I do want to make SOMEthing of myself. I keep changing my mind too. I know that it's normal to feel like you might not get anywhere at all, or never know what to aim for exactly, because I come across other girls my age who feel the same. Grr I don't even know what to ask about...

Exploration is a GREAT thing! Similar to Amathyst I explored many options. Although, she sounds as though she had a little more focus than I (me... I majored in computer science, surveying & mapping, small business administration, human services and finally settled on sociology with a minor in justice studies - yup, changed my major almost yearly). Even when I went to grad school, my desires as far as what I wanted to do changed - my original plan was to get my PhD and be a professor - nope, I'm more adept at, and prefer, being a researcher and doing statistical analysis.

My point, NOTHING IS SET IN STONE!

As far as talking to a counselor though, for me that was not the way to go and it even felt really uncomfortable to me when my daughter was required to speak to a counselor about what she wanted to do. They want to funnel you into something, I don't know about you, but I needed a little more freedom in my decision making as to what classes I thought were most beneficial and of interest to me (and my daughter as a Cap, thought it was BS as well). Maybe as a Sag that is something you would eat up though and/or need, IDK.

Anyway, those general ed classes that are required are a great way to really figure out your interests, get them out of the way while including a class or two that you think would be an interesting career field. If you don't go that direction, then you have some electives under your belt that will really make you a more rounded person in the end. 😉
