Why?

Is this suppose to mean that I can't talk about God unless I keep it on this board? What I feel and believe in is not a miscellaneous topic it is who I am all the time and how I think and what I feel. Am I suppose to run over to this board everytime I feel inspired to communuicate??

Curious as to why you take it so personally. I am sure it is just a forum started b/c many questions of a religious nature have been asked and this is a way for ppl interested in perhaps making a comment to have it fall under the one umbrella without searching through umpteen million other posts. I think it's a brilliant idea personally. I doubt that it means you can't discuss religion or have a religious viewpoint anywhere else here.

It'll end up there anyway, along with everything else. There is a board for cooking, pets, religion, soap operas, confessions, elvis sightings what else? No one goes there; they go to the mis. board! How about one for politics? and sex, and weather and jokes and women's issues and men's issues and —?? I don't like being herded. It makes me feel like I have to come up with something to fit into a specific categorie topic, and it blocks my thinking. Alot of times the conversations just take a turn in a certain direction even though it didnt start out that way.LOL I am speaking for myself.

The ideas for the Religion and Politics boards were mine. It wasn't intended to offend anyone in any way; in fact quite the opposite, I was thinking that it would offend less people if they didn't stroll into a thread in the middle of a heated/controversial debate that has nothing to do with the topic of the thread. I realize that conversation has a natural flow to it, but it always seems to flow to these areas, so why not make a specific place for them so they don't get muddled in with everything else. I was thinking on the lines of categorical organization, and since these are major themes (religion/politics) that keep cropping up in our discussions, I thought they deserved their own boards. My apologies if this offended anyone.

Yes, and god forbid I actually agree with something Heather said, but I DO believe it is a brilliant idea...I am not quite sure I understand your point? Am I not entitled to feel the way I do without your approval first? Baffling....

Suzy, I do understand what you have said, and am clearer on your perspective. It's a new idea, and sometimes they take time to take off but I am sure categorising topics will work well. AS for the flow thing, just go with it I say...if it takes a different turn then so be it. I thought this was a good idea for people who want to BEGIN a thread specifically about an issue...

And Heather, god forbid again, no need to apologise even if causing offence...can't please everyone...that's why its called democratic...lol.
