I learned about profection years in Astrology several years ago. Are you familiar with this or not? I know that there are some intelligent people on here who love learning.

Essentially, an annual profections wheel is a roadmap for which life areas you're meant to focus on in a given year. I regularly order a profections chart from an astrologer on Etsy and find them to be very accurate.

So, for me, I am in profection year 12 and it is true that I need more solitude than usual. I’m a mix of an introvert and an extrovert. I find the solitude to be more rejuvenating.

Here is more information about it:

Today we are going over annual profections, which is quickly becoming a prediction tool that I am using more and more frequently in my practice. Annual profections is an ancient astrological timing technique that equates one year of your life to one house in your chart. It’s especially useful in getting a general read on what themes might be relevant throughout a single year period for you.

Profections can answer questions like why the ages of 27 and 35 are generally regarded as more emotional years, where you’re looking within and prioritizing your mental health. It also explains why people often find more footing in their career in their early to mid 30s, and it can show how the ages of 24, 36, 48 and 60 are often pivotal turning points in a person’s life. Profections are one of the easiest predictive techniques to get started with, because learning it starts out so basic, but gradually you can add upon it to make it more complex. I will have to do a part two on this topic at some point, because I can’t fit all of what I want to share into one newsletter.

To first familiarize yourself with what profections even are, I want you to look at the diagram/illustration at the top of this newsletter. You can see how the chart is divided up into 12 houses like usual, but that there are rings around the whole chart with numbers in them. Each number is indicative of a specific age, and each age is tied to a particular house of your chart. You start with year 0 being a 1st house profection year, then when you turn 1, you switch to a 2nd house profection year, when you turn 2 you are in a 3rd house profection year, and so on and so forth. Because there are only 12 houses, every 12 years of your life the same annual profection year repeats.

You can break up your life into 12 year cycles in this way, noting themes at your current age that you may have been experiencing 12 years prior. For example, if you’re currently 37, you may notice parallels to the age of 25. Looking back at the diagram, you can see how both of those ages are a 2nd house profection year. Or if you’re 26, you may notice that it bears a resemblance to the age of 14. Both of those ages are a 3rd house profection year.

You can find your own profection chart here. You will want to refer back to it as we go through a step-by-step guide below of how to further interpret what each profection year will mean for you.

6th house. Doesn’t resonate; I’ve already invested in my health and routines.

I guess maybe the career aspect resonates for me. When this profection began, I happened to also begin working 2 full-time day jobs, while also maintaining my career as an escort, to maximize my financial gains.

As this chapter is coming to an end, I’ve been released from both of the day-jobs, and I can honestly say “unemployment” has been the best thing to happen for me this year. Obviously I’m still doing sex work, but I feel like I’m using my free time in a more meaningful way, compared to past versions of myself.

I’m using this time to truly explore myself, the world, and new interests/hobbies/skills, while re-investing in some hobbies I had to drop due to the time constraints of having 3 jobs.

I can also say having several sources of income was great while it lasted, but working two full-time professional jobs was DRAINING.

I order a profection chart from the Unapologetic Astrologist on Etsy and it really resonates. You may really benefit from this as well. She does 2 year reports and is very reasonably priced. It goes off of the sign in the profection year with the placement of that sign’s ruling planet along with any planets in the sign.

So, I will use myself as an example. I have Sagittarius for my 12th year profection with Neptune in Sagittarius and Jupiter (the ruling planet of Sagittarius) falling into my 6th house…. According to a Hellenistic profection chart. So health matters would be a concern this year… spiritual growth, more of a need to be alone or solitude, meditation, and self-reflection have been themes for me this year. The spirituality turning into tangible gifts for others is another theme.

2 full time jobs? That’s a lot!!

Can you share more? What sign is in your 6th profection year? The ascendant would be the 1st profection year. Any planets in the 6th house? Where does the ruling planet of the profection year fall in your chart?

Interesting, I have fears about hiring Etsy astrologers. Would you say you have been aligning with spiritual growth/meditation/self-reflection for your 12th year?

Yea, the 2 full time jobs was intense; fortunately one was fully remote and the other was hybrid-remote. Tbh, I could see myself doing it again in the future, and I’d recommend anyone in the remote healthcare field to work at least two jobs, even if the pay is livable. The remote-type jobs are getting replaced with AI eventually, so we best capitalize on it while we still have the chance.

6th profection year Leo. No planets in my natal 6th house, but the profection chart is showing Saturn is transiting it right now? Usually my Saturn is in 12th house Pisces, but currently my progressed Saturn is Virgo (in this 6th house).

In this and my last 2nd house year, I went through major career trajectory changes. At least this year, my skillset is being changed in terms of how I apply it (Capricorn 2nd house.)

Also, the deep ripples of my love life were being stirred.

I am finding sure footing, and mining for gold in a metaphorical sense. Hopefully I will dig into the rock, crushing it with my fingers, extract the gold, and smelt it into refined, smooth, beauty.

Yes, religion and spirituality has become a big thing for me this year for which I am happy for. I did not realize how much I was missing out on. I attended the Jewish New Year service along with some other services, which caused a lot of self reflection. I’ve been looking over my whole life - how I have lived it so far and how I want to live it.

Saturn is likely causing delays, obstacles or hurdles, and slowness. Be careful with any health problems/issues. Seems like you are already health-conscious.

Leo is ruled by the Sun. What house is that in? That will tell even more.

If there is anything you can learn from the Taurus experience, what would it be? I know the emotions were real for you, but it is unrequited. The lesson may be in letting go. Your Cancer moon is nostalgic and wants to cling or hang on.

That’s awesome, I’m glad to hear your journey is going well. I am not religious myself, but I love Judaism- people from that denomination have been some of the most loving I’ve met!

In my profection chart, the sun is in Pisces in 2nd house. (In my natal chart, it’s in my 8th).
