"It does much to restore my faith in the enlightenment of the American people and their great experiment in democracy. This program should be emulated by every university worthy of the name."

This is a really wonderful gift to the world. Free education that can inform people and make them aware of themselves and their surroundings. It can empower people to realise that they have many more options than perhaps they ever dreamed of. The money that has gone into this project can do more to expand the potential of each individual than if one thousand thousand times that amount were simply plugged into international educational initiatives. As the article says, this is really what democracy is about.

It still enables people who have no realistic prospects of ever being in a position to actually go to university to be able to educate themselves. There will not be the financial and bureaucratic barrier to people with much lesser advantages going for them.

I will email it to some people.

But I dont recommend online classes, let alone school...been there, done that, didnt learn a thing...

I barely read my ebooks...grrr

Well, taking online courses could also prove difficult for those without reliable internet connection, let alone a computer.

I for one dislike (understatement)my PC, which is why I also dont take online courses.
