Aqi! Sorry about that, I had to get off in a hurry last night. There were some issues I had to take care of. I may not be on tonight either because I have a few things that need to be taken care UGH!

Anyway, I can't talk to my mom about because my step-dad told her not to worry about it .... 😢 😢 😢 I really hate that because this is something that needs to be discussed.

Okay, all this happened Sunday evening/night; I found the papers on the door because apparently my step dad didn't see them -- he uses the garage door to enter the house most of the time and the papers were tapped on the front door.

I posted about this yesterday because I really don't know how to wrap my head around this, you know? My mom (a pisces) slightly insisted that he explain to her what was going on but he didn't want to at time (I think its because I was there :O) But that may not be the case because there are may things that she should discuss with him but she lets him take care of it because he "the man of the house".

Whatever, thats bullshit, she is the "woman of the house" so she should know what the hell is going on -- this is not the 1950s or the 1960s. I know foreclosure is serious -- just the word itself scared me, but when I read impending, I thought, 'What the hell does that mean?' After my mom give up on asking him about it, I then stepped in and said 'is there something going on that you need help with?' He likes, 'if theres a problem, I'll let you know'. Then he started watching t.v., what the fyck —?

Has he lost his job?

Adjustable interest rate on his loan? If so, then maybe he can catch-up on his payments in time to curtail forclosure, and then see about refinancing. I don't really know, cappie.

Nope, he is a retiree and my mom is a retiree too but she picked a part-time job but she doesn't pay the bills, he does because he told her that she can be a housewife after she retired. What can I say, he's an Aqua, he will only tell me things on need to know basis. I have to seek and find info that I feel I need to know about or secret read stuff because he will not tell me. I have my ways of finding stuff out but he put those green papers is a bag of his and he takes it everywhere with him 😢

usually there are three published notices (in paper), a complaint filed with the registry of deeds...and then an auction on the doorstep. not knowing what state you are in....it sounds like they are close to the auction part. usually the time between complaint and actual foreclosure is a couple of weeks, maybe a month.

REALLY ——————? :O :O :O Oh no

see...the thing that makes me think it is far along...is that a note is not usually taped to your door. usually, the notices are mailed..via certified mail or whatever (because it is so important). usually, the taping on door happens...well, at the end.

SEE!!!! I knew it was something to that! My mom was like, "*.... its not a big deal, he'll take care of it"

Whatever, the dude will not discuss anything and he really should!

but, the harsh reality is, and i am sorry to be the one to tell you, is some people live in denial on this....and if it is far along...there will be an auction on the doorstep one day and the sheriff will evict them.

Shit, i have to do something. My mom wanted me to move back home in January of 2009 -- maybe she felt something was going on and my step-dad wasn't saying anything about it ...

and if he is a "man of the house" type of guy, he might be afraid to admit what he sees as a failure. but that fear of failure will keep him from asking for help...and then they will be in real trouble.

Well, is is an Aquarius with a capricorn moon and I know those guys have major pride issues and they don't like to admit they are wrong much less ask for help ...

i think your mom might be pretty upset if her house was auctioned off on her doorstep.

lk has several points also... you remember the info on the paper, you can google it, visit some advice center, etc ... sure they can give you a good idea what the worse case scenario is so you're mentally prepared.

leoKit and Zena thank you so much for the info. I don't know anything about all the mortage stuff because I never had to learn but I know the word 'foreclosure' is serious, so when no one would explain to me what the deal was, I git upset because I knew it was something.

hmm, I didn't really add much to be honest. don't wanna misinform but since you're worried, educating yourself will be the best protection imo.
lk's a lawyer I think so she is prob more familiar.

if I saw that, my initial thought might be junk sales mail from someone wanting to make a buck from anyone scared of foreclosure but if my dad reacted that way, I would be shytting meself too !

seriously, its hard to express stuff online with words but I'm concerned and I'm unsure what to make of all of this and I ABSOLUATELY HATE (WITH A PASSION) being left in the dark, not knowing whats going on about something that involves me -- my mom and that block-head of a dad of mine -- they are my parents so I can't help but think about what all of this means ...

frankly, this michigan law is...not homeowner friendly and it moves VERY fast. so it sounds like they are at least in week two of publication, as the notice has been placed on the premises. therefore, they have a couple more weeks of publication. get the past two or three weeks of newspapers...they will be in there.

looks like the sale would be at the courthouse, not the doorstep. the right of redemption means they have a certain period of time after foreclosure to pay the amount owed and getthe house back.

You know, I do remember seeing two dates on there, like January ... 2009 and February ... 2009 -- I don't remember the exact numbers. I do remember something something about 'redemption' too. Everything is all mixed up in my head now because I'm at work and I'm trying to get my work done so I can get out of here to work on my paper.

Thank you for wishing me luck, I hope my mom gets her head out of her butt and starts to listen to me. I don't like referring to her that way -- I'd never say that to her face. But she needs to start being aware of whats going on. I will be getting my masters out-of-state so I will not be around forever.

Zena,

Its sooo bad is Michigan right now, you have no idea -- gas is cheap at the moment because of the election but other then that no way 😢

Food is higher but the boxes and bags and packages it comes in keep getting smaller but the price is flippin' higher :O Its unreal. People think because gas has come down, everthing else has too. Where I live, the apartment will not except late rent, if you miss the first, then they start sitting up a court date -- so you have to pay the rent plus late fees plus court costs .... all because you didn't pay it on the first -- they will not give any chances. As a result, people are moving out (lol). I want to move too, but at this point, I don't know where ...

Sorry for that rant

dont go south!! southern states are very landlord friendly...not tenant friendly. the northeast is tenant friendly. hard to get evicted up here. drives landlords insane.

Really? Well thats good to hear, but I'll never go south, I thought about it once but no. My grandmother went and now I think she regrets it -- she's a Saggie, they make wild decisions without thinking it through.

lol. an excellent way to describe sags then they regret them and just do not understand why everyone will just not forgive them? lol.

Yes lol, I have a sag influence, thats why I know. Sometimes, but I try to think before I do anything. Now if only I can figure out how to think before I speak, that would be great LOL, I tend to only say what pops in my head and many times thats no always the best 😄

so where do you wanna go for masters ?

Well ... that depends only because my cousins still want me to visit them in Sweden. However, they want me to get my undergrad over there but I don't know if I'll have the money to go there right now. When I work towards my masters' I may have the money by then ... so I'm not sure.

As far as in the country, Arizona State University
